Thanks for the tip, I really love the design of the wra2 stand with the Darwin handle I ordered, the head I added Wr2 DC 1.05sb/86 oc.

did you mean 1.05SB / 0.95 OC (0.86 is only offered for WR1 head and its pretty aggressive)

That is correct, I guess I am too excited . When you think he will start shipping, never got a shipping confirmation

I guess that's fine, I noticed that only ss razors was on sale the titanium always out of stock, or did I just miss it.

I'm not a fan.  It is the only Ti WR1 I've tried but the material was not kind to the head like it is with the WR2.  The WR1 94SS is a fantastic shaver. It has lots of blade feel and it's consistent.  There is no question where the blade is at any time. It's super efficient yet very comfortable and forgiving.

The 94Ti has more blade feel than the SS and it cuts closer.  It has the face feel of an iKon Tech, to me.  It just feels sharp. It hard to describe. It's not comfortable, dare I say harsh? The only other JD head I didn't really like was the WR2 1.25OC in SS.  It was similarly harsh with no benefit of extra efficiency over the SB.  At least the 94Ti gained efficiency with the sacrifice of comfort.  I know there are some guys that like the feel of the iKon Tech.  The 94Ti is for you.

I had hoped Titanium would improve on a good thing as with the WR2 does in any gap.  The WR2 may give up a little bit of efficiency to it's SS counterpart but it makes up for it, to me, with a more comfortable face feel.

I have not run the Ti94SB vs Ti135SB side-by-side but my feeling is the 94Ti cuts closer.  It could just be the harshness makes it feel like it's cutting closer.  I can run them at the same time, if anyone cares.  I'm not real sure I care to load the 94Ti again tho, unless it's for science. Smile   The 135Ti is a vastly superior razor and produces nearly the same result.

In the WR1 SB head, .94m gap, I certainly prefer the SS. No question.

Knowing all of that...I would still like to try an 86Ti, hoping it may be better.

So I recently got the awesome opportunity to shave with the Ti94 and then a few days later the SS94. I can’t explain why, but I found the same thing LOOT - the feather in the Ti was a bit rough for me, but it performed great in the SS. The Ti performed great for me with Polsilver and Nacets though.  The SS was great with Polsilvers also, haven’t tried a Nacet in it yet.

For what it’s worth, here’s my impression between the two from a recent shave:

4 days growth, GD preshave. Stirling Island Man soap, SS94 on 7XL, Polsilver, Island Man Splash, GD rejuvenating serum.

Wow.  The 94 just impressed me so much with how smooth it is for the efficiency level. Hell, I'd consider it smooth for a mild razor, but this thing is far from mild - it chopped down my 4 day growth with ease WTG. Against the grain, it's butter smooth, but cuts so close. It's so smooth I can comfortably hit my trouble spots (neck, ATG on edges of my mouth, upper lip) with no irritation at all, but a BBS shave. The blade feel is nice and consistent, and playing with the angle gives a very comfortable shave with good feedback.

From using the Ti94, I'd say the SS isn't better or worse, but maybe an easier razor to shave with. Not as light and nimble as that Ti on the short 80mm handle, but I found the extra weight to be more intuitive.  The Ti is so light, it requires a precise touch to get the close shave it can give without applying too much pressure and getting too close. The SS on the other hand, balanced on the large XL handle felt very natural in "letting the razor do the work."  With my technique and even the short time since using the Ti94, I couldn't tell an efficiency difference.  I do believe the Ti has a bit softer face feel, but only slightly so.  I think the Ti may be able to provide an ever so slightly better shave, but requires more skill to achieve it.

Overall, both are awesome. My biggest problem now will be waiting for enough stubble to shave again!

I like my razors neither too heavy nor too light....currently use a Darwin on a WR2 head which adds up to 90gm ....perfect for me.
Have a WRH1 on a Wr1 head incoming which will be 92gm...also perfect. I think this range of weight provides good balance and doesn't
force the user to over or under-compensate in terms of pressure applied to the skin.

It's interesting how Ti behaves so differently from SS....given that it's 55% lighter than SS...my 90gm razor would become around 48gm,
causing me to apply more force I reckon, which might have an adverse influence on the outcome. That's too light for me, which is why I've
always viewed Ti with trepidation.

But who's to say what's best for another...we are all different in our tastes.

Ok....I'll defer to your scale Smile

I did read it was 55% approx according to this thread...but things may have changed.
