How are you guys cleaning these heads....I have an OCD about returning these to their sparkling
state after every use. I have a beat up, disused toothbrush where the bristles are very soft and almost destroyed.
I used it a couple of times but then got scared off as I didnt want to risk any hairline marks, but they appear
anyway due to the friction of clamping the blade. Also, the parts get really slippery while holding them with a
soapy hand.
Nowadays, I use a soft soapy washcloth and hold the plate inside it while gently scrubbing the glue remnants
off. It's a good alternative but I wish there was a better way...like just soaking them. But I don't think that would work.

I have a soft kids toothbrush that I will use on the inside of the base plate and top cap. I just rub soft soap on the outer portions with my fingers. I’m like you in that I’m scared of scratching the outside with a toothbrush. I haven’t noticed any marks on the inside though. I dip it in alcohol and dry it with a lens cloth after each use.

I have a Branson ultrasonic that I put heads into before offering them for sale. Shines them up nicely. I use Dawn dish soap to break the surface tension of the water and clean the parts. The ultra sonic is a small unit design for cleaning the nibs of technical pens after use. It seems ideal for the purpose of cleaning safety razors. I don't do this to razors I'm using. I rinse them under the tap. I'm pretty careful with my kit, so no scratches on my stuff.
My clean OCD is overcome by my fear of scratches. I usually keep 2-3 razors "in-use". I pat them on a microfiber towel, blow the pieces with computer duster, and leave them apart on the counter. Once I use it, I never wipe the razor, with anything, for any reason. As long as they are dry, soap scum and glue dots don't matter, to me. Hot water, scrubbing bubbles soak, gentle scrub with a dedicated soft toothbrush with a couple of drops of Dawn...then you can wipe them down with a microfiber towel. I put them in stands and start the process over.

The polished heads will pick up scratches regardless. I've been careful with mine, but through regular use, all of them picked up some scratches here and there. It's pretty easy to polish them though. I'm not sure why people worry about this so much, and it's probably getting into unhealthy levels of obsession to let something like this occupy so much of your thoughts. Use your razors and polish them once in a while if the scratches bother you, that's about all you have to do.

Assuming he releases (I am guessing) 15 razors per
drop, that's a very impressive hit rate for DFS members.

Do you know if you can cancel the stand later if that's all you can check out with?
