You set it at 10??? You and LOOT - you're my heroes!

Wow this razor is the BEAST. I took James LOOT  suggestion and did a WTG pass on level 10 the razor didn’t have much change in blade feel but Holy Crap it went thru 2 days growth like it was peach fuzz. When I was done I was near BBS except my neck, jawline and under the nose. I dropped all the way down to 3 and did a full ATG. BBS level 3 by Frank’s Dragonsbeard scale. A little burn on the lateral neck area with alum but rest was normal. I used a PolSilver blade and TOB’a grapefruit. I know it is not good to compare by memory but the Sailor is way more efficient than my IKon tech I sold and smoother.

I used it on 10 WTG, ATG and XTG and I had no nicks or irritation. I used a very light touch and let the razor do all the work. The new Sailor is ridiculous!!

Looks like a potential RAD killer as there are multiple gaps for everyone to use. Personally the TOBOS Grapefruit is a great soap despite the scent being somewhat artificial (IMHO). As far as the iTech goes it is extremely efficient and aggressive but definitely not smooth - it may have been the only razor I could not reliably tame so I am glad you have found your new lover ... The Sailor.

Hot damn by the reviews on this razor should I even bother to do the Hyper Efficient Category in the Shave Off thread and just proclaim the Sailor the winner!  I’ve definitely gotta take one of those for a spin! This razors absolutely got my undivided attention and as a bonus it’s a real looker to boot! 

I can’t wait to know how long the BBS lasts Mark.

Been telling you guys...this razor is no joke. There are no DE razors that I've tried that can come close to this thing on 10....and it opens up a lot further past that. It's in a class all by itself. The Janus will be nice...but based on you guy's input, there is no way it can hang with the Sailor.

Now I gotta go use mine again. Been saving 4 days worth of growth for that monster.

I agree with James but with one caveat. The Home Like Shaving Taiga is also hyper efficient and I have been using these 2 razors neck and neck. The Taiga goes up to a 1.63 gap on 8 or all the way opened up and it’s super smooth. The Sailor has every razor beat on build quality right now but shave for shave with these 2 on the same approximate gap, the Taiga is smoother. I love them both and these may be my last razors purchased for a while......maybe!!

The Taiga maxes out a 8? You are comparing it to Sailor on 10? I've not read the Taiga thread at all. As I recall, the photos didn't grab my attention, but if it's that good maybe I need to look into it.

Edit: OK...I just looked. That's the Gibbs looking knock off. I don't like the looks of those, the Gibbs, the Rx, or any of the other variants to the Frenchie Froo Froo. I'll have to take your word for it.
