That was after the shave LOL just put top cap on for the pic. Even I’m not crazy enough to shave with it at twice around opened up.

Good eye, Ian!

Mark, you know you want to run her at 20!.

I ran mine at 3 and was surprised at how well it smoothed out. This razor can cover a lot of preferences..daily shavers and sporadic users alike.

I'm really enjoying the razor. Got another great shave from it this morning. But, there's one thing that bothers me. The sailor is certainly a premium razor, and it really shows almost everywhere. However, the finish around the knurling on the handle isn't great. On mine you can see the machine marks and it looks like minimal effort was put into finishing this part of the razor. Which is really bizarre as the rest of the razor is highly polished. Have others noticed this? Or is it just me?

I took a real close look at mine. The sections between the raised rectangle are a little rough. Definite machine marks. The soilid horizontal bands between the raised rectangles is a little better but there are still machine marks. With that said, I get it. My knurling has fairly sharp edges to it that almost grips like legs on a fly. That makes the knurling second only to maybe a BBS1 in grip. If Murat spent much time polishing the machine marks out...he would likely lose the sharp edges that I love. I think what you are seeing was an intentional decision...and the correct one, to me. If the Sailor had better knurling polishing but sacrificed the sharpness, I'd not be nearly as much of a fan of the razor.

My last 2 nightly shaves with milder razors have given me easy BBS shaves after 3 previous shaves with the Sailor has anyone else noticed better shaves following the sailor? I also have minimal machine marks between the grooves on the knurling but I agree I would rather have that and keep the excellent grip.

I am really having an issue right now. Because of these amazing modern Adjustables, I am really having an issue reaching for anything else and I feel like I am just neglecting all of the other high end DE and SE razors in my collection. I have decided that in between each shave with my Sailor and Taiga I am going to start using some of the other razors and then make decisions on which ones can go. It has been crazy because every time I pick up a different razor, I catch a glimpse of the Sailor or the Taiga and I think.....damn, I can try a different gap today with the Sailor or with the Taiga.....I can use the SB or OC today on a different gap. I’m telling you, these Adjustables cover so much range to play with and I don’t think I can ever get tired of them because they are both THAT good!! Using my Wolfman WR2 DC 1.25 just to compare to some of the smooth shaves I have been getting with the Adjustables.

Loaded up an Astra SP and dialed the Sailor to M+ WTG was very smooth and much less blade feel than my previous shaves. It was there but in no way threatening XTG again very smooth and with a touchup under the nose and along the jawline I was BBS. No irritation whatsoever. I wasn’t sure if I would keep this razor as I shave daily but I think dialed down with a milder blade it’s a winner as a daily driver too.

Nice razor, but I’m infatuated with that brush!
