Loaded up an Astra SP and dialed the Sailor to M+ WTG was very smooth and much less blade feel than my previous shaves. It was there but in no way threatening XTG again very smooth and with a touchup under the nose and along the jawline I was BBS. No irritation whatsoever. I wasn’t sure if I would keep this razor as I shave daily but I think dialed down with a milder blade it’s a winner as a daily driver too.

Nice razor, but I’m infatuated with that brush!
Thank You It is a rosewood handle with a Maggards Mixed knot made by Graydog.

Pulled out the Sailor for a 3 pass shave level 6 then 3 then 2. Very smooth BBS. Much less blade feel from level 4 or below. Still haven’t tried going past 10.

Today I resisted my normal tendencies and stayed away from the upper range, partly inspired by Mark.  I ran it on 4 for the first two passes and last half pass on 2.  Excellent shave. Surprisingly smooth and I'd say on 4 it's close to a 1.25 WR2, maybe 1.35.  Good stuff men.  I'm really digging this axe.

11.5 hours later, just getting a little stubble over 15%ish of my face. That's 135 efficiency easy...on 4!

30 hour follow up shave for date night. Typical 2.5 pass shave on setting 3. First time the Sailor has been pretty mindless...and it still cut pretty danged close.

Ok, I’m going with a vintage Personna Tungsten 74 tomorrow and going to start out on 3 or 4 and see how that goes.

I've never tried vintage blades.

Me neither but a friend recommended getting some of the Tungsten steel Personnas and some of the original brown packaged PolSilvers and my first use with the Personna put it in the “best blade I have ever used” category and I have tried just about every blade on the market. Some people have said this blade can last you 15-25 shaves. They are very hard to find.
