Same here! Looks like Thursday will be the day, 27 days after I ordered it.

Now I'm kinda worried. How long before you got a shipping notification?

I ordered my razor on May 10 and I received notification on May 28 with anticipated delivery of June 7.

An example of how wet shaving is so personal. I know how much Celestino and ANG69 (Alex) love their Blackbirds. Amazing razors in form and function. I find the F plate shaves as close as the Blackbird but with a bit more smoothness. At this level it’s small potatoes as these razors have gotten so good in the last few years! I’m really looking forward to the DART this month.

One thing Celestino and I agree on are the Wizamets.Smile

Probably have something to do with my lack of experience with the razor and technique. Also the smoothness isn't something unique to this razor, I have others just as smooth or even better, maybe.

So.. I like it, but not enough to bother getting more plates or to think about keeping it permanently in the den, not yet at least.

Have you tried a Kai blade? It definitely stepped up the efficiency in the D plate for me. I am 12 hours post shave with the F and an Astra and still no stubble

Ahhhh, NOW I know why you don't want to buy an ATT lol.

It's not totally out of the question. We'll see what the Karve/D is like. Do you want to borrow it after I take it for a spin for a while? lol

You are absolutely right, Max - wet shaving is all about personal preferences. My BBs are still my MOST favorite razors, but I must give it Chris - his creation with an E and F-Plates came very close to share the top spot with the Blackbirds.

From my personal experience I would compare the shaves that my Karve-R provides to those by BBS-1 with a much better efficiency. And to my aesthetic taste the Karve looks absolutely stunning, especially after polishing.

Wizamets are superb, Max and this hobby of ours is all very subjective. The Karve is still an excellent razor.

I haven't used a Kai blade in many, many years, but I didn't like them when I tried them, last. Nonetheless, I may contemplate it, but I doubt I will buy them just to try in this razor as the blade I use exclusively works very well in every razor I have tried. Shy

Thanks for the info clint64 and wyze0ne. Hopefully you both get your new toys in the next couple days! I'm interested to hear your thoughts after you take it for a spin.

I’ve had three more shaves with my Karve “F” Plate, and for me it’s not as smooth or efficient as my Blackbirds, Timeless.95 OC, or even my Charcoal Goods lvl 2 with a Feather Blade. I’m able to get a DFS with the Karve Razor, but the end results for me aren’t as good as the above mentioned Razors. I also didn’t notice much of a difference between the “E” and “F” plate as I did between the “D” and “F” plate which is to be expected since its a larger jump. The Karve is a Beautifully made Razor at an excellent price, but I don’t see myself reaching for it very often since I get better Shaves with my other Razors. I was also thinking about making this my dedicated travel Razor, but I think I would rather use my Timeless or my ATT Slant instead. My Karve may be headed to the BST as I don’t keep gear around that doesn’t get used.
