I’m able to get a DFS with the Karve Razor, but the end results for me aren’t as good as the above mentioned Razors. I also didn’t notice much of a difference between the “E” and “F” plate as I did between the “D” and “F” plate which is to be expected since its a larger jump. The Karve is a Beautifully made Razor at an excellent price, but I don’t see myself reaching for it very often since I get better Shaves with my other Razors. I was also thinking about making this my dedicated travel Razor, but I think I would rather use my Timeless or my ATT Slant instead. My Karve may be headed to the BST as I don’t keep gear around that doesn’t get used.

Thanks for echoing my thoughts completely. I really, really wanted to like this razor but it just won't break the Top 5 for me. I'm also in the "no keep" camp. There will be 2 in BST very soon.

I really wanted to like it as well, I think it’s very well made and I especially like the Handle. YMMV and all that.

Sure thing. My D Plate was delivered earlier than expected so I will use it in the morning.

Canada Post and USPS exceeded expectations and delivered my Karve D plate 2 days earlier than anticipated. The razor presents very well out of the box. The finish looks great and should be easy to care for over the long haul. All the parts show the attention to detail and are machined with very tight tolerances. I am very pleased with the way the razor looks. The heft in the hand is nice and the handle is just over the top. Now on to the shave. Over the last month or so, I have modified my normal two pass shave routine to start ATG followed by a XTG pass ( ear to centerline). I only do this with razors that hold the blade very rigid. So I went with this routine with the Karve this morning. I found the razor to be very smooth with minimal blade feel. Certainly much less than the Timeless 0.95mm OC. The beard reduction was excellent and with two passes and minimal touch ups, I ended with a near perfect shave. I have a spot on my lower right neck that is a constant nemesis with all my razors. I anticipate getting better results with continued use. The razor was worth the wait.

That's it. You made me do it. I started this thread and have been holding out for the longest. Kept putting it off as my eyes were always wondering to another razor(s) that caught my interest.

Wondering should I hit the submit button and complete the purchase with the items in my cart. (Probably the longest time I've had an item in my shopping cart without pulling the trigger).

I just wanted to say that ALL OF YOU are low down, rotten, dirty scoundrels. Especially you Sir Clint, as I employ almost the same strategy that you used when it comes to rigidly held blades in a particular razor. I was waiting for someone to mention that same ATG first pass with the Karve.....

As soon as I read your post, I repeatedly said NO to myself countless times and actually accomplished walking out of the house to come to work. Without hitting that damn button....

Order #1695.
I failed miserably......

Yes, I had the Website on my phone with the same shopping cart. Damn enablers.

Ahem,.. By the way, nice write up Clint. Winking

Sorry I messed you up Gus. It does remind me a a certain brass SE razor.

I’m sure you’ll like the razor. I’m almost positive I’ll get the F plate in addition to the current D plate.
