First shave in the books with the new Gillette.

One day’s growth, using the Gillette Platinum blade provided (never tried that one before).

Pretty nice.

Lighter and shorter than I prefer, but the razor did a good job on three passes. Didn’t finish as close as usual, but that can be me, or the blade. I enjoyed the feedback too. I liken great feedback to the sound you get from ceramic rods used to sharpen knives. A pingy sound that communicates material consistency. Really enjoy that.

This is mild razor, and should appeal to newbies. The blade combo also seems aimed at nick avoidance for those starting out. It’ll be interesting to see how results vary with different blades.

The only minor detail I’m not a fan of, are the pointed corners on the base plate, which will wake you up in places like under, or around, the nose.

Still, I like the razor, and will add it to the lineup.

Definitely got my money’s worth.

Yes, people seem to miss the fact that it’s got Gillette’s attention!
I got mine and the case is really nice. I find it smoother than my DE89.

On the left is the DE89 and on the right is the Gillette.

The Gillette has a more domed head so to me when I shaved with it and it’s smoother than the DE89

I had to order it on .com and I live in .ca so its not here yet.  I've learned to be patient in the land of poor selection and worse service.  Back when my son played youth basketball and we'd go to tournaments in Spokane, Salt Lake City or Las Vegas my wife and I used to go into the American grocery stores and go up and down the aisles marvelling at the selection of products. Felt like the Beverly Hillbilies   Mother! Y'all got to come and see this... We'd buy stuff too depending on whether we were driving or flying.  I remember the Smiths in SLC had more inventory and selection of just tortillas than the total product any of our grocery stores had in their entire bakery sections.  I could go on...

I saw this Muhle at the local Marshalls this week and thought it might be of interest to the Forum. The head looks identical to the new Gillette DE head.
