Thanks Bruce, checked the time period - it's 180 days so I'll be filling a dispute.

Thanks. Just wanted people to know what they might be dealing with, if they purchase from him.

Have you tried calling them?, Emails can seem impersonal. Before you slam the company try communicating with them again. I had a problem like this with Merkur a few years back over the finish on a futur headcap. They sent me a new cap after a couple emails.

Again: sent emails, got the warranty as a reply and that's it. Never got a reply to any other message I've sent.
Can't call the vendor - no number.
The razor was supposed to be new, and I paid full price. Now can I slam him? Smile

I have nothing but good words for IB. Actually, I did most of my wet shaving purchases at IB, but I'd prefer not to buy an item if it's paired with anything ikon related. I just don't want to contribute to ikon sales (I'm not delusional that vendors would stop selling his stuff). I was really undecided about posting this, as I'd prefer to just move on and forget about it, but at the end the possibility that I'd prevent someone else from being robbed won. I don't like posting negative reviews, especially when so many people like this razor/vendor, but why should we support a business that treats customers badly?

Posting Freak
The beauty (or horror) of the web is that the market can act and react quickly. With customers sharing their positive and negative experiences on sites such as DFS things ought to attenuate efficiently. We should also be cognizant of the need to mention the good experiences we have and extoll the virtues of the many fine artisans and vendors out there. I've said it before but it bears re-saying - we should also be patient with artisans and vendors because success can occur with lightning speed and overwhelm them - imagine the world suddenly becoming your marketplace?

I would recommend contacting them again and telling them exactly how you would like the situation to be handled. Tell them specifically if you would like a refund or replacement. You mentioned PayPal. If you paid with PayPal and the vendor won't work with you, contact PayPal and they will handle the refund. I like to use PayPal for this reason.

Doesn't sound right, but that's what happened.

i only one time had a problem with some top caps i ordered from him they came scratched also. i emailed him and he replied quickly and sent out new ones before i even shipped back the other 2. as well as he sent me a usps number to use to send back the 2 bad ones. i have NO reason to say that other then i have always had good experiences with him. i literally just ordered a shavecraft tech with handle so im really hoping mine does not come in like that or i will 100% be filing a dispute if i do not get any response to fix the issue. im crossing my fingers that mine will be great. i will say his answers are usually short and very bluntly to the point though.

Master, that sounds like solid customer service and what I would expect from a vendor.

Look forward to hearing how the OP's situation pans out.

I filed a dispute - after a few days he escalated it to a "claim" (at least he responded to SOMEONE), and I'm waiting to see what happens.

That actually does sound about right. Greg has a reputation for being rude to customers. He publicly insulted his customers in online forums, stopped responding to people when they asked about issues and defects, and he considers just about every defect with his razors as "cosmetic" so he refuses to replace them under warranty claims. I, for one, will never purchase an Ikon razor, either direct or from another vendor (since he makes money from vendor sales too).

I wont be buying any Ikon razor in the near future. I did not know that Greg was rude to his customers and being a high end razor, this is an absolute embarrasement.
Thank you for letting me know...Frank!

He's a lot more then rude, at least in the past. I've heard some first hand horror stories and nightmares that most wouldn't believe someone would do.

I refuse to buy anything first or second hand and won't even buy razors I want that have his handles.

I've had first had experience with him, he is the polar opposite of a gentleman and professional businessman.
