Your favourite artisan bath soap maker ?

I have used Stirling bath soap for 3+ years now. My "go to" is Scots Pine Sheep. I alternate between a bar of SPP and either Executive Man or Gentleman.

Bob is right on. Mutton tallow and lanolin makes amazing soap (shave soap as well, but that's a story for another thread). I love the Electric Sheep during the summer.

BadDad make sure you keep them dry when not in use, and don't leave them sitting in a puddle or in the shower stream. That will definitely help keep them lasting longer. They aren't milled and there are no detergents to harden them, so they will go faster if they get soggy. Also, using a loofah, sponge, or washcloth rather than going directly to skin will also extend the life. A cheap-o loofah will make them last for weeks, and will also make them lather like crazy.

I know I am talking about shave soaps and not bath, but I should add that Rod's sheep soaps have absolutely saved my face in the winter time. In gets so dry in MN, you feel like you will crack open and bleed out if you shave one more time. These soaps help SO much.

I ordered three large bath soaps from Sudsy Soapery recently. I'm only into a few showers with my first, a very nice oatmeal goats milk bar that lathers nicely and smells great. This brand is my first foray into artisan soaps. Based on this thread, I'll be checking out Stirling next.

Cool label - the title to the novel by Phillip K. Dick that the movie Blade Runner is based on is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Pretty sure that's where Rod got his inspiration. That looks a lot like Harrison Sheep to me.

Best advice right here. One bar can last me for 8-10 weeks using a loofah.

Stirling, Shannon's soap, Claus. These triplet are really worth every buck! Should try at least once.

Since 2 years, I use Le Pere Lucien bath soaps, it preserves very well my dry skin !

I have a lot of less itchy ... no allergies and so on ...

I like the apricot oil made soap and the avocado one.

I tested Maggard and Wickham soaps, the scent is better and it lather easier but it is less protective, in a more common way, most of the easiest lathering soaps are less protective because all the oil used during the making is changed in soap ...

Another vote for Stirling -- wide variety of scents and you can often get a big 5.5 oz. bar for $3.25 on sale.

Just ordered four more bars of Stirling last night so they must be doing something right (and a boar brush I figured for $10 why not and I like the handle).
