USPS notified me that Yates was delivered today. That's a day earlier than expected!

Quick basic face shave tonight with the M plate, using Proraso green and a fresh Nacet blade. I honestly was not expecting much from the M plate; just wanted to get it out of the way first.

Thanks to those who went before, I knew to employ a steep angle. Boy oh boy what a smooth comfortable shave. Two passes and I could have been done. Gentle ATG pass left an effortless BBS. I am quite impressed by the great efficiency with no blade feel. There is no irritation at all on my neck. (the Karve C OC left my neck feeling a bit hot last night).

Looking forward to trying the H on the dome tomorrow.

Face shave tonight with M was a repeat of last night: amazingly efficient, smooth, and comfortable.

Head shave with H was a wonderfully comfortable 2 pass affair. Shaving with the Yates puts me in the mind of how the Henson medium feels. The Henson medium is my go-to for head shaving. Efficient and safe feeling, but it does require some buffing to catch everything.

I have been using several more aggressive razors for head shaves (Sterling ST, Muhle R41, Karve E) to achieve the desired efficiency. I have enough skill to accomplish the head shave safely, but the back bottom corners behind the ears, where the skull curves in, is very prone to nicks, sometimes significant ones. Like the Henson, the Yates handles that danger zone safely and comfortably.

I was not expecting it to, but the Yates may very well cause me to reconsider my tools of choice. Really enjoying this opportunity so far.

Independence Day shave with the H plate in the Yates 921. Shaved both face and head. Really enjoying the Yates. I could use the H plate as a daily driver, even on the face.

I am not a fan of dual sided plates; the lack of symmetry violates my feng shui. The hybrid plate certainly looks stunning on the razor. However, the brass plate felt harsher/harder/colder in contrast to the warm/softer feeling of the bead blast stainless. Perhaps the contrast would not be as noticeable on the as machined ss version.

One head shave in using the EH plate. Still feels non-menacing, although I could feel the blade a little more and noticed the gap. Not sure I gained any efficiency from the EH.

I have grown to love this razor more each day. It is no exaggeration to say that I may have found my holy grail razor. It makes me a little sad to have it boxed up to send to chocotacokid today.

I felt no significant stubble growth when I went to bed last night after using the HE plate in the morning, attesting to the high efficiency of that plate. I am amazed by how comfortable the HE feels during the shave. I used the H this morning on the face and the HE on the head and experienced no irritation.

The razor arrived last night. Since I'm familiar with the 921-M, I will probably use this for 3 shaves to try out the H, EH, and HYB plates. 

First up, I'm going to go with the open comb HYB on four days of growth.
