I finally got around to using the Yates pass around razor last night with the DFS base plate. I paired it up with a brand new wizamet blade and used wholly kaw soap (the soap name escapes me at the moment).

first, I like the handle length but it's way, way, way too thin for me. it reminds me of holding a pencil or my leaf razor. Yates has already addressed this issue some have by adding some fatter handles to their lineup. kudos to them for that!

the shave itself was fantastic....smooth, no harshness, I didn't notice any chatter and I heard almost 0 feedback during the shave. I look forward to using this combo again and trying out the other plates.

the only real complaint I had was that I had a hard time reading the engraving on this specific plate...

I just ordered progressive lenses. Not a coincidence

Yeah, I found myself holding it like a pencil at times during my head shave. Finished editing my video. I should have it up on Saturday.
