I would love some opinions on the WR1 .61 .67 and .74 gaps.
What are your favourites and which feel superior in smoothness, comfort and efficiency.

Don't have a 1.25.
I love two timing between the 1.35 and 1.55Ti. I find the difference between them to be tangible.
1.45 and 1.55, not a great deal obviously. The 1.35 is my most used gap...the 1.55 s a special treat
for times when I don't shave for about 2-3+ days...a hall of fame razor, top shelf in every way.

In your situation I would look at a 1.55

Have owned all the WR1 from 0,48 - 0,74 in DC; yet retain the 0,54 - 0,67.  They logically progress equally in comfort and efficiency concomitantly with gap. It is up to the user to determine what is right for them regarding preference if that what you are asking

I’ve read through most of this thread, and looks like a lot of people end up with a higher gap than maybe initially planned, as WR2 maintains its smoothness as the gap increases. Which is great to hear, as I put smoothness at the top of my list.
But I shave daily (or about 5-6 days/ week), and I find that if I use a razor that’s “too efficient” (even if still smooth whilst shaving), my face starts to feel a bit “raw” after a few days...

This is where I am at. I won't use the 1.25 on consecutive days. I rarely use the 1.15 on consecutive days. I use my 1.05 more than the other two. But I like the shave I get with the 1.25 most of all. When I had that super high gap DC, it was OK one day per week, but no more than that.

So do you still have all three: 1.25, 1.15 and 1.05?
And what do you mean when you say you like the shave you get from 1.25 the most? Is it just the efficiency/ BBS you get at the end of it, or even during the shave... face feel, smoothness, etc?

I have all three gaps in Ti. I use the 1.25 with 48+ hour growth. It seems to give me the closest, longest lasting shave. But my beard doesn’t grow in fast enough to use on consecutive days. I mean, I can use it on consecutive days here and there, but not regularly. But the same is true of the 1.15. My main daily drivers are the Ti 1.05 and a Ti WR1 .61.

Thank you.
Grateful for any other views/ thoughts from people who use/ have used WR2 SB 1.05 vs 1.15.... both in terms of the end result, but also the experience during the shave (face feel/ smoothness).
I’m a daily shaver, and currently using Karve SB C and D, and Timeless Ti .95 SB.

I had gotten a WR1 0.94 DC and was trying to 'figure it out.' I had tried various blades and it was a bit too much of a good thing when I first received it. I have a half dozen Wolfman SS and opened the closet to get the .94 out, mistakenly grabbed the 0.74 DC.

I was shaving and thought how smooth and wonderful this razor feels, when I took a closer look and realized it wasn't the .94. I've since gotten to like the 0.94, but it took time to figure out which handle, blade, how many days growth.

In WR1 I also have a 0.86 OC which is quite smooth and very efficient. I had a pair of 0.61s in OC and SB but sold them because they just didn't deliver the goods for me. Same with a Timeless .68.

In WR2 I have a 1.15/1.25 DC, a 1.25 OC, and the 1.55 SB. Of course the 1.55 rules the roost, and I find the 1.25 to be smooth, like the WR1 0.74. The 1.15 is the open comb side of the DC and it is quite good as well, but if it had it to do over I'd have gotten 1.25 on both sides.

All this blather is in hopes that someone may get a lead on which gap to order. Obviously I like razors on the aggressive side, CG Lv 3, Karve F & G plates, and the like.

I couldn't even shave with a Feather AS-D2, or a Pils. So there you have it.  Smile

I have a Timeless 95 OC, 125 WR2 SB, and I had a Karve F SB. I think the 125 WR2 feels very similar to the 95 OC, but is more efficient.

The WR2 is about the same efficiency as the Karve F plate, but it’s significantly smoother. I didn’t find the Karve uncomfortable, but the first pass wasn’t very smooth for me.

I can use the 125 WR2 daily without any irritation. I only do 2 WTG passes though.

Sincerely, with all due respect, if you can only do 2 passes, both WTG, it a stretch to state daily use without irritation in my estimation. Suggest that an indication you need find a better suited blade, soap, preshave procedure or, likely, milder gap WR2.

I have extensively (for months as I've been fortunate enough to get both as loaners) as I'm deciding between the 1.05 and 1.15 SB when my spot comes up. Smoothness is the same for both but efficiency and closeness of the shave goes to the 1.15. One caveat though. My skin takes a slight beating, it shaves that close to me. Not a hint of beard left on my skin. Total BBS. The 1.05 does great on my skin. It feels amazing but I'm still left with some spots of beard growth. Very marginal but nonetheless present. Even with buffing I can't get the same BBS as the 1.15. So basically it's either the 1.05 and choose for comfort and a near BBS or the 1.15 for efficiency and closeness but at the expense of skin comfort. The Karve C is my preferred choice. The D works too but like the 1.15 can be too much and the C gives me the comfort I get just like the 1.05. I have to say using a Super Iridium, Feather, GSB, G Platinum does really help with the 1.05 as those are sharper blades and give the 1.05 that extra boost. As a daily shaver the 1.05 would be my razor of choice.

That’s very helpful, many thanks!
Sounds like we have similar preferences..
May I ask, which one have you decided to go for, when your spot comes up? Or still debating...? ? ?  Big Grin
I think I remember people saying that, at some point, one could request a custom baseplate with two different SB gaps, eg 1.05 SB and 1.15 SB? (I remember wondering how you’d know which side is which, unless he can mark them somehow...).
Not sure if that would still be an option, and whether it would be a good idea or not...

I remember some ordering that type of configuration. IIRC James will put the higher gap on the side where Wolfman is engraved so the higher gap is on the top of the W. I am pretty sure it is the thread.
