Only wanted a WR2 head 1.15 OC (no handle).
Nothing since then...might be a long wait (sigh).
Hey don't sweat it, ole JimmyH and I are sitting in back of this bus. We are on the 10th. I'm happy for the others though, and enjoy the excitement then the feedback.

Does anyone have a WR2 in Satin Matte finish that they can post a photo of?

Thanks!

Ok this doesn't make sense. As I stated in my last post I couldn't wait to get home and see my first non polished Wolfman razor.. so I was expecting a brushed finish in the WR2 Ti  145/155 SB and when I opened the box and took my first look it was the head I unwrapped first. An I was like " what" this doesn't look any different than my high polished WR2 Ti 125/135 so right away I unpacked the handle and although this is the HR2 which doesn't have as much smooth space on it the parts that were again looked no different than my HR7 High polished.  I had to post up photos of them side by side and maybe these old eyes can't spot the difference but maybe you can.  The only thing I was thinking is in my communication with James over a period of about 3 months or so he and I sent emails back and forth and twice he said I'm backed up and could you give me 3 more weeks and I'll make you your razor. Then that didn't happen and then again he said give me another 2 weeks and when I didn't hear from him after the 2 weeks I thought to myself maybe I'm not getting one right now as he's swamped but then a couple of weeks ago I got an email from him saying sorry for the long wait and I haven't forgotten about you and I'll make you a razor this week and just confirm what you want and I'll send you an invoice which he did and I paid him. In  one of the emails  I asked him if he would do a high polished Ti and I would pay the extra but then he came back and said unfortunately I'm not at this time doing any custom work but maybe down the road when I get caught up.  I was like ok cool,  I just thought I'd ask.. he responded with maybe I can give it a light polishing for you and there's no extra charge for that in a separate comment and I was like thank you and that was that. My invoice says brushed finish and I have two friends that got theirs with the  brushed finish so that's what I was expecting. Well after opening the box and seeing this razor I was like did he polish mine up a bit more as a nice gesture for making me wait a lot longer than my other two friends? FYI  we all put our requests in within about 10 days of each other and they got their razors fairly soon afterwards but nothing on my end until like I said James responded to me after I sent him an email asking if he was still going to make me a razor. So if he did polish mine for that reason tomorrow I've  got to get in touch with him to thank him.  Take a look guys and tell me if you see any difference in these photos. I'll add my photos don't do either razor justice as I suck at taking photos. For the likes of me I cannot see a difference between the two finishes and I've looking at them in different lights since I got it. It is dark out so tomorrow I have to look at them in natural light as they can't be the same. Obviously either way I"m very happy.

As I said, to my eye, the differences are stark. Im sure the shaves aren't vastly different. The basic would be
the one if budget considerations are a priority, although I suspect many would veer towards basic polished.
The SS brushed satin finish is very very close to brushed Ti....altho the Ti looks more grey while SS looks more silver.

Is the brushed basic similar to the finish on the original Above The Tie razors?

I wouldn't say so.

Edit: sorry misread your post....I would have to revise my answer to yes, fairly close.
At least from my memory.

UPDATE: to anyone who saw my last post.

Not the sunniest day out there but in the natural light they look pretty much identical

If you’ve been following this thread, you probably saw the posts from a couple others of us who recently received our basic polished WR2 and couldn’t tell the difference from a mirror polish. I’m surprised that you’re so surprised.

Beautiful razor. Congrats.

Those are both very shiny razors, I wouldn't say one is shinier than the other either, they look fantastic

Nice comparison,

The grain of the metal is more visible on the SB,
the DC appears to have a better polished finish to my eyes.... Shy
