Eufros Kasbah
M&F finest
Platinum blade.
Today, my first ever shave with the Wr2, & on 3 days growth I was not dissapointed!
A straight 2 Pass shave Wtg & Atg, this was a close shave!
I used the OC for one side & the SB for the other for a quick first shave off.
The OC side had more blade feel & feedback but did not shave any closer than the SB side for me today.
My question was very clearly answered re: Blackbird comparison:
A more efficient shave goes to the Wolf, however the real test will be tomorrow as the growth re-appears. The BB for me feels smoother but Hell....It's my first scrape with the Wr2 & I did not expect a BBS with a straight 2 pass shave on 3 days growth! so improvement is expected to come. The blade feel for me was comparable to the Wr1 .86 but waay closer.
I specifically did not buff or pass a third time as it felt so close already, and for fair comparison as I normally do a 2 pass with my other razors (but not on 3 day growth).
My skin feels 90% BBS and 10% DFS
The Alum test revealed absolutely no burn Whatsoever-Nothing-Nada.
I get the feeling that blade choice will really make a difference on this shaving tool.
......Oh, & the Wr2 is Way more Beautiful in the hand than in any pictures i've seen,
Having owned other Wolfy's I did not expect to be surprised by it!
lots of speed testing to follow...
The funny thing is I'd forgotten my experience with the Charcoal Goods Lv 2 SB, which is not efficient for me at all. The Lv 3 being great ... well I picked up a Lv 2 OC and it is equal, or very nearly so, to the Lv 3 SB.
The Lv 3 OC is almost too much of a good thing for me, while the Lv 3 SB is very nice. So I'm betting your OC side on the DC you've gotten is equivalent to a higher gap. I could be wrong, I was wrong once before.
Jimmy...I can't speak to Karve as I used an E SB plate precisely once. As to CG, I'm no help either because I only had SB plates. I've used a couple of WR1's and WR2's, in like gap, in both SB and OC. On my face, there is no difference in efficiency between OC vs SB in the WR2 head. I find the OC slightly more efficient than the SB in the WR1 head, with plenty of emphasis on "slightly". I had the 115DC and the 125DC at one time. All I noted was a loss in face feel SB vs OC with the SB being much more comfortable.
I think of guys who say a Lv 2 CG SB is a great daily shaver. For me it is only slightly better than a Feather AS D2, which is no good at all in my experience. Different strokes for different folks.
OTOH, I also noticed a loss of face feel with the SB after doing my first WTG pass using my 1.15 OC - 1.25 SB. The second pass, ATG with the SB was almost like squeegeeing lather since the OC had done such a good job on the first pass.

I also had the same conclusions with the Blackbird OC and SB. I would like something right around the Charcoal Goods Level 2 OC, maybe a little more efficient with the WR2. Based on feedback I've received, the 115 should be the right gap, but I still can't decide on OC vs SB. I'm thinking OC since that's what I usually prefer, but I'm thinking about hedging and getting the DC so I can at least use the SB side if the OC is too much. The Karve F was just slightly too much for me. I could use it most of the time, but I have sensitive skin and it would bother me sometimes. I think the E plate in Karve probably would have been a better choice.(11-20-2019, 05:56 PM)LOOT Wrote:I recall your saying you only saw a slight difference between OC/SB. It’s a reference to his good friend who got him into wet shaving in the first instance, and what piqued his interest in creating a DE razor. That guys name is Brad Melling.
Hence, C for Christopher and B for Bradley.

I used WR2 1.55 DC today, it very efficient, and pretty smooth.
I shaved half of my face two pass (WTG + ATG) and other half (only ATG just wonder).
It is very smooth to easily get single pass ATG. This razor is definitely keeper.
It is my first brand new Wolfman, happy to he started selling them with google form.
Hopefully others will receive their Wolfman soon.
I am done buying expensive razors until I can get Wolfman Ti from the next drops, only waiting for my Janus, now.
