I added a photo, I ordered budget polished one, but this is so good for budgeted polish.

Beautiful. I'd imagine that finish is pretty close to polished Ti...or 95%-ish mirror.

Did you use it? I'm curious about the face feel SB v OC...and if you notice any difference in efficiency.

I compared with my mirror polished WR1 and they are exactly same.
I am suspicious that he might make a mistake in my order.

That's amazing, it's not a noticeable difference..

Bonus! Now you can swap handles and still look great in SOTD pics.

Next up is a shave report!

SOTD:
Wr2 1.25 Dc Mirror polish
Eufros Kasbah
M&F finest
Platinum blade.

Today, my first ever shave with the Wr2, & on 3 days growth I was not dissapointed!
A straight 2 Pass shave Wtg & Atg, this was a close shave!
I used the OC for one side & the SB for the other for a quick first shave off.
The OC side had more blade feel & feedback but did not shave any closer than the SB side for me today.
My question was very clearly answered re: Blackbird comparison:
A more efficient shave goes to the Wolf, however the real test will be tomorrow as the growth re-appears. The BB for me feels smoother but Hell....It's my first scrape with the Wr2 & I did not expect a BBS with a straight 2 pass shave on 3 days growth! so improvement is expected to come. The blade feel for me was comparable to the Wr1 .86 but waay closer.
I specifically did not buff or pass a third time as it felt so close already, and for fair comparison as I normally do a 2 pass with my other razors (but not on 3 day growth).
My skin feels 90% BBS and 10% DFS
The Alum test revealed absolutely no burn Whatsoever-Nothing-Nada.
I get the feeling that blade choice will really make a difference on this shaving tool.

......Oh, & the Wr2 is Way more Beautiful in the hand than in any pictures i've seen,
Having owned other Wolfy's I did not expect to be surprised by it!

lots of speed testing to follow... Big Grin

Congrats on joining the WR2 club. I've posted as to my trying to figure out whether an OC was, as Christopher Bradley opines, on his Karve Shaving site, that the OC is one gap higher than the SB.

The funny thing is I'd forgotten my experience with the Charcoal Goods Lv 2 SB, which is not efficient for me at all. The Lv 3 being great ... well I picked up a Lv 2 OC and it is equal, or very nearly so, to the Lv 3 SB.

The Lv 3 OC is almost too much of a good thing for me, while the Lv 3 SB is very nice. So I'm betting your OC side on the DC you've gotten is equivalent to a higher gap. I could be wrong, I was wrong once before.  Rolleyes

Well Jimmy,,

First of THANK YOU, pleased to get here,
I have read your posts on the OC/SB comparison,

In 48hrs I'll be on a SB 2 Pass,
In 96hrs I'll be on a 3 shim single? pass to get perspective of a 1.55 & Straight razor comparison,
And I can't wait!

I feel you could be right going by blade feel/feedback comparing OC to SB on some razors.
For me it may take time to work out my personal preferred blade/Wr2 combo,
Usually I go GSB/Nacet but get the feeling I may need to dial back on this one in a higher gap....for skins sake......

Jimmy...I can't speak to Karve as I used an E SB plate precisely once. As to CG, I'm no help either because I only had SB plates. I've used a couple of WR1's and WR2's, in like gap, in both SB and OC. On my face, there is no difference in efficiency between OC vs SB in the WR2 head. I find the OC slightly more efficient than the SB in the WR1 head, with plenty of emphasis on "slightly". I had the 115DC and the 125DC at one time. All I noted was a loss in face feel SB vs OC with the SB being much more comfortable.

Daily shavers, what gaps are you liking? I think I prefer my 1.25 over 1.15 ... which is a bit strange :/

I liked the 1.05 WR2 that I tried. It was plenty effective for me. I'd even consider getting one as a 0.95 for best comfort!
