Here is a shim I cut for the purpose of a previous post example sat on a Wolfman Guerrilla base plate,

As can be seen, the shim when compressed shall be over the contact area of the base plate showing that no possibility of marking a polished razor could occur any more than a std blade.

The problem is the oxidation on the blade used as shim.

The blade we use for shaving is changed with few uses so there is less risk of intense oxidation.

Whatever is used for shim will not be changed as often and therefore will have a higher oxidation.
I don't know about anyone else, but I remove the blade almost immediately after each shave, and wash everything.

This makes me rethink the WR2. I decided to sell a razor when I filled out the order form for the wr2 and the Karve is the one I chose to get rid of. I’m starting to think I might want another wr1, but in a different gap than what I currently have. I had both Karve F plates and I originally ordered the D SB plate, but I just didn’t find it smooth until the second pass. There were certain spots that gave me trouble on the first pass if my angle was not spot on.

Yeah for me both the wr2 and the Karve are perhaps the 2 smoothest razors made today. Go figure.
Just lucky I guess, but a couple of weeks ago I bought a Karve E&F plates with 2 handles from a member of DFS. Great deal, and though I am too new to shaving with them to compare to the WR2, I like the F plate very much. Thinking of ordering an OC F from the website. According to him it should be the equivalent of a G in SB. As far as the WR2 versus the WR1, I give the edge (no pun) to the WR2 in terms of which I prefer. This after years of shaving with a few WR1s in higher gaps.

I like the hybrid handle.  Is that the basic or mirror polish?

That's the first 1/2 handle I've seen. It's lovely. Great idea.

Beautiful! I want that handle as well.
How would you compare the 1.15 with other razors?

I haven't tried a ton of other razors. To me, it's smoother and more efficient than a CG Lvl 2, but less efficient than the Lvl 3.

I'm gonna change my answer. The CG Lvl 2 is pretty smooth. I think the 1.15 SB is as smooth, but noticeably more efficient than the Lvl 2. The 1.05 SB is slightly more efficient than the Lvl 2, but definitely smoother.

IIRC, there was a user called NHWetshaver who ordered one in Ti a few pages ago...that's when I first saw it.
I asked JD if he would consider a WRH1 knurling on a WRH2 handle and was told an emphatic NO.

Cant speak to 1.05 but on my face the 1.15 was noticeably more efficient and smoother than CG L2 SB.
