Im glad I didn't wait 3 months to email him my order, as Im sure I would have copped the new prices...

Moving forward, Im going to be a lot more circumspect in any wolfman purchases.
Glad I got both of mines before it all blew up.

Hopefully, pictures of the various finishes will filter through, so customers can decide
what do do....never thought Id see the day for a wolfman razor with machining marks,
but there you have it.

Glad, I too was able to get my bookend razors (a 1.05 SB daily driver and a 1.15/1.25 DC for mulitiple days growth) before the prices went up...I still wanted one more to complete my personal wolfman trinity (a WR-1 Darwin) but I’ll just live without for awhile to see how things shake out while I focus on thinning my den.

My take on the DC is to get the more aggressive gap on the SB side, and the less on the OC. The OC, IME, increases the aggressiveness, so the larger gap might be too much of a good thing.

On the SB side the larger gap will be somewhat muted, and the smaller gap will be enhanced in efficiency by the OC. My desire is 1.25 on the SB side, and 1.15 OC. I think that would work a treat ....

If i could only get one ! Blush

+1 the would be a very capable razor.

I figured I can go as aggressive as I want WTG, so I set the OC side of a DC to be the more aggressive one. For every other pass, I use the milder SB side. I'd like to try it the other way around sometime, but these are expensive experiments.

As far as the price increase goes, I suppose I'm glad I have what I have. I'm curious what, if anything, will happen to the price of Ti.

A Ti may now be the cheap option!

I ordered a WR2 DC in 1.5 SB and 1.15 OC, with WRH2 handle and a WRA1 base. The head is only in mirror polish rest are all in polish/textured finish. What do you guys think?

My idea is to keep 1.5 SB side as daily driver and 1.15 for 2-4 days beard, or do first WTG with 1.15 and then XTG 1.05, as I only do two passes. I think I can still mail him by this weekend and change the order, but to get the correct head option is always confusing. Let me know your thoughts...
What are your current favorite razors? Do you want something similar, more, or less efficient?

My current favorite razor is Charcoal Goods lvl 2 Gen2 SB. It is very efficient and very smooth. Of course I want something more efficient and more smooth Smile

My last order was from February of 2018 so I was due. However, the only way I had the opportunity was from this little “group”. Thank you to all for sharing shipment and receive information as it helps immensely.

I also believe with the added expenses that James is trying to get his share. I know he detests seeing his razors being sold for more on the second hand market. Also, without having to mirror polish everything, he can get razors out quicker to people who may not require it. I plan to assess how much I like the basic polish and then go further on my own.

Thanks again everyone and I will post once mine has been shipped and receive to do my part as others have for me.

Post pictures when you get it. I’m curious to see what the basic polish looks like. The more I think about it, it probably looks better than what he describes on the website. My guess is it will be on par with the other polished razors.

I think you picked the correct gaps. The 115 will be close to an L2 and the 125 just shy of an L3 plate. I won't speak to OC/SB for you as I'm generally not an OC guy. I can tolerate them, but in the WR1 and WR2, I see no difference in performance, just face feel. Other guys swear the OC is more efficient. Whether it is...or isn't is lost on me because any gain is quickly negated by the feel. YMMV and all.

I think your Dual Comb Combo sounds great. I haven’t used a WR2 OC, so I don’t have anything to share with you as far as my own impressions.

As far as your Mirror Polished Head with Polish/Textured Handle and Stand, that will be personal preference on whether or not you like it. If you wanted a matching Mirror Polish Handle, you could always email Mr. DuFour and have him cancel your Stand and have him Polish your Handle instead to match the Head. It all depends on what you want and is personal preference. Let us know what you think of your Dual Comb once you receive it.

Glad you posted this Loot. If I grab the brass ring, next time around, or the time after that, I'll ask James to give me a DC 1.25 OC, 1.35 SB. A Lvl 3 Charcoal is fine for me. Lvl 2 is good in OC but lemonade in SB. Smile

I had a brushed finish WR-1 and it is a beautiful finish. It is silky for lack of a better term. Flawless, as is the mirror finish, but subdued. Some people might prefer it. TBH I regret selling mine. It was a .61 and had the WR-7 handle, the only one I've had, and my favorite. I wanted polished so it went to justify acquiring that.
