Not just you. The main reason I'd buy a WR is the polish, and the latest increase pretty much took me out of the market. I don't begrudge him asking that price, because market will bear it, but it's too much for me to reasonably spend at this point. I'm really happy with my CG razors anyhow, so I'm basically content.

Again, to clarify, James should charge as much as people will pay for his product. He makes fine equipment and deserves to be paid well for it. Honestly this might be a good thing... Maybe keep the store open for more than 120 seconds / month.

I am partly happy with the recent price change. I would be happier if he lowered the price of regular machined razor even more. I am only interested in the unique shaving experience, I have close to 0 interest in the jewelry aspect (high polish and what not). I can now get a WR-2 head, pair it with a weber handle for under $200. Those who want expensive jewelry, can spend up to $1100 CAD. Seems like a win-win.

When I first got a Wolfman it was a brushed finish WR-1 OC with a WR-7 handle. I wanted a polished so when the opportunity arose I bought one. This all on ebay, I couldn't be at the 'right place/right time' to buy directly from James. That brushed finish WR-1/WR-7 was really beautiful. Since then I've gotten 3 more Wolfman with various blade gaps, all polished. I'm thinking ... IF it get the shot to buy one at the next drop, or the next, I might go brushed/satin instead of polished. Not only less expensive, but attractive in its own right, and a variation in the theme. I don't know though. One way, or the other, I hope to grab the brass ring this time around.   Smile

One BIG advantage of different finishes is that (Since James rarely engraves blade gaps on the Base Plates any more), if you have more that one razor/Base Plate in the same configuration (Such as two or more OCs), having different finishes will greatly help in distinguishing or identifying between the different Base Plates, as long as you get different finishes for them!

This one arrived pretty fast, all things considered....what a beauty...I hope
it does the trick for me. Hollow handle feels great....fully loaded would
have been a disaster for me. Now it's perfect
