Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

I just ordered a WR2 - SB, 1.05, WRH2(Hollo), 90mm. I am wondering whether I should have gone for 1.15 or higher.

I am a daily shaver, 3 passes always. Whenever I have 2 or more days growth, I use a straight razor. Other razors I like - CG lvl2, BlackBird, GameChanger 84 (and 34C, obviously). What do you guys think, 1.05 or 1.15?

Easy answer is that it depends, but if it helps I got the 1.05  and it works perfectly as a daily 3 pass shaver...on this drop I went for a DC 1.25 OC 1.15 SB with the intention of it being my Monday morning shaver (I often don't shave weekends).  From my perspective you should be fine...to provide context other razors that I use or have used as daily shavers are; Game changer .84, Rex on level 3 or 4 and Karve DPlate while the Blackbird and r41 and Rex on level 6 are or have been 3day growth shavers.  

I have a couple of very mild razors for when my face needs a break as well.

you and I have similar choices - 84, REX 3/4 and Karve D for daily drivers. I am more confused now, lol.

I was able to grab a WR2 in today's drop too!  Really looking forward to it.  I was able to test drive one from a friend, and not only is it beautiful but it gave a great shave.

So, going by earlier posts in this thread, it may be 2 weeks before another drop ? Or could it be sooner than that ? Anyone speculate from past performance ?

I have that DC configuration in Ti. I use it to start and/or end the week.

I counted 7 guys on here who scored a razor in today's drop.
Assuming he releases (I am guessing) 15 razors per
drop, that's a very impressive hit rate for DFS members.

I would go with the 1.15. Considering the other razors you like I will definitely change to the 1.15 it is still smooth and More efficient

I would go with the 1.05 I would’ve recommended the 1.15 a couple weeks ago but for daily 3 pass, for myself and another guy I know, the 1.15 is too much for daily shaves over the course of a week or so. I actually find the 1.15 preferable in many metrics, but the 1.05 is just a better fit for my skin I can even use the 1.15 every other day and be fine.

Either way you’ll be able to trade the other direction should you not like your choice. For me I’d rather have the more mild head and be forced to use a sharp blade than vice versa. That said, I own both, proudly and would never sell either one.

I've had a 1.15 SB for nearly a month and would agree that it might be a touch too efficient for daily shaving. I borrowed a .95 SB and it gave excellent shaves that I could've easily shaved carelessly without a worry and end up with a great shave. BUT! It didn't shave as close as I was hoping. Eagerly waiting to buy a 1.05 SB when I get the chance.

Random observation....the difference between my previous order no. and today's order no
was 33.

So 33 razors, give or take, in 2 months.... thats what, 2 days per razor.

I track my order numbers, for obvious reasons. I've done it for a long time. I think his average is about 1/day on the order list you are looking at. However, there are other razors that he builds that do not go through the website. I hate to inundate him with more e-mails but yes, he does do e-mail orders. While James strives to be perfect, he isn't. He makes mistakes. If you are lucky, and you aren't an ass about it, if you choose your words carefully and make it easy for him to say YES...you might get another razor (you pay for it) for your troubles. In all of those instances, there is another set of order numbers. I have heard That may explain why there isn't always a 1/day showing in orders from one drop to the next.

Given that...if I had to put a number on his output...he likely targets 500/yr. Razors is all he does. Math is awesome. Guys can bitch about the cost but the man still terribly undervalues his time, IMO.
