Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

Personally, I would always err on the side of getting the more aggressive razor. It seems like there is always someone looking to trade his less aggressive model for a more aggressive one in the BST.

Still smooth as in the 1.15mm has the same aggressiveness (blade feel) as 1.05mm yet more efficient? Sorry, I don't quite understand the term smooth for a razor. Like despite having blade feel, it is still comfortable? Thanks

I have a Ti WR2 1.15 SB, and I would highly recommend it. It is smooth and efficient, the ideal daily driver. I also have a Ti WR2 1.25 SB, and it is equally as smooth and just a touch more efficient, so I don’t think you can go wrong with the 1.15 blade gap, especially in Ti. The Ti seems to have a “softer” face feel to me compared to SS. I would recommend contacting James to see if he can change it for you. Congratulations on your new Razor, you’re in for a treat!

I managed to get an order of WR2 Ti 1.05mm SB. However, I am afraid it may be not efficient enough and would like to ask if I am looking for something similar to Matador Toro Mastiff aggressive model kind of efficiency and aggressiveness (blade feel), should I change my order to a 1.15mm?

After reading through the thread, almost everyone leans towards the 1.15mm as the ultimate daily shaver if one could only own one wr2. However, there are also some members who felt that 1.05mm is efficient enough. I do not mind a WR2 having the efficiency of the Matador aggressive model while being milder (with lesser blade feel) since I enjoyed mild to mid aggressive kind of blade feel.

My experience with DE razors are very limited with only Wolfman Guerrilla and the mentioned Matador aggressive model. I was afraid that the efficiency of the WR2 1.05mm will be similar to the Guerrilla razor which I find not efficient enough to my liking despite enjoying the mildness of it.

I can't speak for the ti but if it helps when I got my ss 1.05 I wanted just a touch more right after the first shave. I recently got a 1.15 dc and it's perfect. The only thing I want now is a 1.15 ti. So I guess what I'm saying is yes, see about changing your order. For a reference of my "taste" to see if we like similar razors to base my claim on I prefer mid aggressive like cg lvl2. Not sure that'll help though. Best of luck, either way it's a sweet razor.

Fwiw I have 115 in both metals but recently picked up a 1.05 in ti. There are days when the 1.15 is just too much. I am a daily shaver. If you skip days the 115 will be perfect.

I owned a 1.05 in stainless and the difference is hard to notice. For some the extra efficiency will not be enough to offset the blade feel.

BUT - you really can’t go wrong with either and it seems most are hunting for a 115 so it’ll be easier trade bait if you don’t like it.

I am looking for CG lvl 2 type of blade feel and efficiency since it is what I am aiming for if I could not get the wolfman razor. Really appreciates everyone's advice.

For me, the 115 has Level 2 blade feel, first pass only, and is slightly more efficient. The 115 is also smoother than the L2. The Level 2 is a fantastic razor though. It would be my favorite daily driver sans a Wolf. Rarely do I miss the L2, but sometimes.

If you like the CG L2, I think you’ll also enjoy the 1.15SB. I have both and find them both very nice daily drivers, with the 1.15SB just a little better in terms of both smoothness and efficiency.
