This thread is the best of the year...... seriously entertaining!!!
Side note, the "free market" does not excuse poor customer service or really bad processes and isn't something people upset with the practices of WMR don't understand, I think they get the concept of free market and to try and give them a little economics lesson in response is a tad belittling.
In the scheme of things is this life or death stuff? No, but very little is. However, when some people have waited and tried and waited and tried to get on the waiting list and then don't make that list while other people have been afforded the opportunity to get two and three and in some cases, four of these razors, I can see and certainly understand their frustration and sour taste for James and WMR.
To me the solution is simple. If you have had a poor experience with this vendor, scream it from the roof tops. I think the wet shaving community is pretty good about both lauding praise and lamenting displeasure with vendors and USUALLY, it's pretty reliable. The community also doesn't have a short memory -See Douglas Smythe and PAA for reference and "controversy".
I thought this waiting list nonsense was insane over a year ago and I haven't even considered getting one of these razors because of it and I voiced my disagreement with the process then. However, I haven't then gone back and tried to still get one.
Seriously folks... there are a plethora of razors out there just as good, that shave just was well, and look just as nice as these do. If you are ticked off at WMR then have some conviction behind your angst and DON'T BUY one.... spend your dollars elsewhere on the numerous other amazing razors that have recently or will soon be hitting the market. However, if you come here and express your angst and then still repeat the waiting list process followed by complaining, you won't find much sympathy and that action is hypocritical.
I see there is one on ebay for 650.... so ultimately if you have to have one of these razors is 350 worth getting it now, a year earlier than you would through WMR anyway and then being done with the whole fiasco.... I suppose how bad you have to have one determines that answer.
