It’s fascinating to compare 4R, with their multitude of yeast/mash bill variants but consistent aging, to Buffalo Trace with their limited recipes but widely varying rickhouse conditions.

For me, overall, I like the stuff coming out of 4R more than what BT puts out. Not that they're bad, I think too much of their stuff gets over-hyped.

I couldn't agree with you more Dominic. I think BT is way over hyped !

Based on recommendations from WeeScott dtownvino and TommyCarioca I picked these up today while getting some wine for the Misses. I was told while there that a special release of 13 year was coming ?

Great pickups, Dave. I haven’t tried the Old Tub but I’ve heard it’s a great bottled in bond for the price. The Russell’s 10 year is a classic. Regarding the Russell’s Reserve 13 Year, this will be the third year they’ve released it and I’ve never seen one my entire time hunting for it. I’ve tried pours of it at a bar and it was incredible, easily one of the best pours I’ve ever had. Hopefully we can both track down a bottle this year!

If you like that Russell’s 10 year, definitely recommend the Russell’s Single Barrel 110 proof version. Cheers!

Now that’s a man that loves his Old Tub. I can get Blanton’s in my area but it’s like $90 now which is just too much IMO.
