I was planning on a Thu°Rose°Day shave and have the AOS Rose Absolute cream next to the sink, following TC's lead...
But the power went out around 5:45 pm (Mountain) and is still out. Pitch black outside.
I could still shave next to the candlelight, and started planning to... but I'm enjoying this silence... No appliances or television, not a peep anywhere, other than raindrops hitting the house. I think I'm just going to enjoy this rare moment of complete calm, for now (skip the shave), and then we'll see what happens when the power kicks back on.

Love those moments. Long ago rid house of all televisions; had it my way, would rid electric lights too.
Amazing as it seems, most actually sleep with exteriour and interiour lights on all night.

Sounds like a beautiful non-shave.  I am of the same mind as you on this, and with DanLaw too, up to a point.  Peace, quiet, and stillness are restorative.  Good for the spirit.

Matt ever try a candle light shave?  Had the power out one time and had to shave for a event the next morning I had to go to. It was very relaxing and like you mentioned so nice without all the normal distractions and noise. I’ve actually had a couple of candlelight shaves since then just cause I wanted to and I’d suggest you give it a try sometime. Only thing I’d probably stay away from the most aggressive razor in the den! Lol

Totally agree as I've not done candlelight shave but have done Oil Lamp shaves

Oil Lamp or Candle Light. Same kind of feeling I’m thinking Dave.
