REM an internationally regarded physiologist reading our grad class the riot act for over an hour on how properly educated men squeeze tubes from the bottom to top, carefully cleaning the threads prior to installing the cap. He concluded by admonishing how a person performs the most basic task is how they conduct all other matters.
I have been thinking more about this ... I originally assumed you thought I'm a neat freak, so that's where my mind went. I'm not a neat freak, I'm a practical person.
So, using your/his model, it's TRUE... I squeeze all the cream out (practical), but I don't wipe the threads on the screw (not neat freak).
And that's how I approach most things... Effort to the point it makes sense (to me), but not overkill. (I'm busy, so it's a survival mechanism, not laziness.)
Law of diminishing returns.
