I agree, I still have hard discs of the old Fine formulation and I prefer it to this new formula which I find worse than the old one

Today was yet another disappointing try with Fine’s Italian Citrus soft soap replacement and although the soap smells fantastic, the lather is utterly lacking in both slickness and cushion. I may as well been shaving with water which luckily I could get away with. I’ve tried this soap with boar, badger, and synthetic, well watered and Saharan, heavily and lightly loaded and always the same result. Perhaps it’s my rock hard water? At any rate, I finished with a splash of Italian Citrus aftershave and was smiling again. Life is too short and options too good to do any more fiddling with this jar anymore.

Wild Rose (Cyril R. Salter) sweet rose
Shave 2 ・ 157 g left
Early this morning, with the house still asleep, I shaved by the gentle glow of a night light. In its quiet glimmer, nuances of my shave emerged that are generally lost in the bright light of day – the slickness of the cream, its richness, and the efficiency of just one pass, enough to tame 98% of my beard. The scent was more interesting, too. Just as this rose seems to be headed off to granny-land, it pulls back. Not overly fragrant, certainly not fake, it’s a gentleman's rose and a very nice harbinger of a fresh fall day.
