At any rate, I finished with a splash of Italian Citrus aftershave and was smiling again. Life is too short and options too good to do any more fiddling with this jar anymore.

Early this morning, with the house still asleep, I shaved by the gentle glow of a night light. In its quiet glimmer, nuances of my shave emerged that are generally lost in the bright light of day – the slickness of the cream, its richness, and the efficiency of just one pass, enough to tame 98% of my beard. The scent was more interesting, too. Just as this rose seems to be headed off to granny-land, it pulls back. Not overly fragrant, certainly not fake, it’s a gentleman's rose and a very nice harbinger of a fresh fall day.
