My first puck worked wonderfully. Never needed to “bloom”, exclusively use a boar brush, no satanic rituals…it just worked flawlessly. Tommy and I had some discussions awhile back about MWF. I gave it all sorts of praise and encouraged him to use it for a week. My first puck was already kicked, so a refill was ordered. My experience with this puck mirrors his. On top of that, this puck causes my skin to have a burning sensation. There was also about a ten page discussion about these issues over at B&B (I think?). Many others reported getting dodgy pucks made somewhere in 2020. What gathered my interest the most is some people emailed Mitchell’s to ask about a possible formula change or a possible bad batch. Radio silence from Mitchell’s.
The skin burning reaction is why cannot use MWF. It lights up like no other soap encountered followed by Tallow & Steel
That’s what baffles me. The first puck, zero stinging. Always left my face feeling like a million bucks. I can’t say it’s a sensitively to lanolin either, since many soaps I use contain it.
