Hi, Polovez. How does the Active version compare to the Classic Barbus soap that comes in the blue jar? Any notable differences in scent or performance?

I have never had another soap from this manufacturer. So I can't help you. This soap is average for me. Good foam, but all other indicators are not above average. Pleasant enough smell.

I appreciate what you and vtmax and Rudds have to say about them, but the real reason I ordered them was because I have a lot of friends from Indonesia. I’m even learning their language. So, I wanted a set of soaps from there too. Absolutely no regrets, and I’m looking forward to many happy shaves.

Just out of curiosity, what are you using to learn the language?  I've used the DuoLingo app on my phone for the past several years to learn Spanish....i'm not fluent but know much more than I ever learned with 3 years of high school Spanish.  I also recently started learning Dutch on DuoLingo but if there is a better program, I may switch.

Fougère Friday
Barrister and Mann : Omnibus > Spice

A few years back I was predisposed to lathering with Old Spice every Sunday. It was my Spicy Sunday designation. Hard to stick with things though: but by doing so I tried most everyone's version of Old Spice. My favorites based on scent alone in order: Stirling, Soap Commander, B&M, PAA, Mystic Water, & St Charles Shave Company. I do have a vintage puck of the original-not much scent left though. Stirling Spice AFS & beard oil are esp noteworthy.

I was actually reaching for a true Fougere in my omnibus pile [Fougère Gothique], however, per darkness of morn grabbed Spice. Truly a classic fragrance. I have missed her. I may get back to the occasional Spicy Sunday. The Omnibus base is irreproachable as usual.
