Hmmmm .... I don't see any soap in that tub. HoosierShave, are we looking at a 'done and dusted' shaving product? I'm thinking congratulations may be in order.  Big Grin

It's definitely getting close...i'd say about 1/3 remaining.  But I'm in no hurry to finish this one.  The lather is really nice but the scent is where it's at!  This is the scent of a good cigar.  The kind worthy of a deep inhale prior to warming up for the light.  I used to be a big cigar and pipe enthusiast but tobacco hasn't touched these lips since Aug 7, 2014.  This soap always brings back fond memories of sitting around with good friends and a good stoge!

I used a sample of this MacDuff’s soap this morning. Nice, summer scent and in my opinion MacDuff’s V4 soap base is one of the best in the business.  Happy2

Is this sandalwood? Well, that’s debatable. If you’re looking for the milky sweet smell of Mysore sandal, you’ll likely be disappointed. What you’ll find instead is eucalyptus, camphor, clove, bergamot, neroli, ylang ylang, patchouli, and rosemary. Oh, and there’s a few slivers of spicy red sandalwood thrown in, too. So it’s got all the fixings for a great fall cologne, and I’d be lying to say I didn’t really enjoy it even though it’s not the purist interpretation of sandalwood. I especially like the camphor and rosemary while I’m shaving, and after a while the herby bits dry down into a spicy base that rides around with me all day.

Is there a woodpile's worth of sandalwood write-ups coming our way?

Nah. I think I'll stick with DR Harris Sandalwood for a while. It's true, the other day I asked for some help selecting a new sandalwood soap, but in the end I decided to stick with what I had in stock.
