Explaining to my wife why I have eighteen kilos of shave soap stowed under the bed is tricky. I’m not naturally a hoarder. Far from it. In fact, I go through spells when I try to discard at least one item from the shack each day. Maybe it’s a pair of shoes, or a book, or some plates, or whatever. It doesn’t really matter as long as I move one thing out of the house. But something about shaving has really got its hooks in me, and I think it’s the scents. I just plain enjoy these little pots of fragrance. Compared to a bottle of perfume, a tub of soap is cheap, and, as I tell my wife, it’s actually practical. So when I get one that works wonderful and smells as good as this Santal Absolut, I've hit the jackpot! All the happy parts in my brain light up, and I just can’t help but try my luck again. And boom, I'm back prowling the market to find something as good, if not better.

The  scent  in this - amazing. I don't care that it is synthetic. It is beautiful. I prefer it to AOS Sandalwood. The Fine is more 'cologney'    I am still angry I didn't stockpile the crap out of this.  Frank is my only hope -

Well I will say a couple of things. For one I now have a brand new tub of the Fine Absolut shave soap and I think I must have found and bought the last bottle of the aftershave splash and I found it in Italy. It just came in the mail today. It smells awesome.

The other thing is I found out the owner of Fine lives about 30 minutes away from me and all I’ll say for now is we have been emailing each other. Nothing to report yet but I know from the horse’s mouth that their is no intention of bringing the scent back. I do have some ideas though.

Another thing is as you know I prefer working with natural aroma ingredients and my target for the Sandalwood I’m doing currently is the original AOS Sandalwood which I also like and many others who messaged me did as well. That’s one project.

With that said since we all know that the Fine smells nothing like real Sandalwood it is an awesome scent however and I haven’t stopped my pursuit of getting this scent out to you guys that seem to want it. I’m just trying to go down the path of least resistance. It is a cologne type scent and I definitely have a Collection to put it in. So a different project.

Please be patient guys. I’ll do my best to make this happen one way or the other and it may not take as long as you may be thinking.

An if I do offer this scent you guys better be buying at least 10 jars each! Lol

Just kidding of course.

I honestly wasn’t as excited about this until getting the Soap & Splash but now I’m stoked!

So I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.

Happy trails until then!

Homemade shaving soap.

Ingredients : Shea butter, Cocoa butter,Stearic acid, Coconut oil, Castor oil, Sodium hydroxide, Potassium hydroxide, Veg. Glycerine, distilled water, Sandalwood and Cedarwood essential oils.

I have made about 320+ grammes which will last me well over a year - less than a dime sized portion needed to produce an excellent lather for a 3 pass shave .

Also I will make one jar with a different essential oil combination in the coming months.

Below what was left after a 3 pass shave.

By rights I can only speak for myself, but even so, it seems to me like you just more or less told the story of our collective lives.

He is a king but the female will not like it if you go near my wife.  It is hard to believe how protective she is.

Although the Ethos products are amazing, I have to say that is a beautiful razor!
