Lipripper would like this one. Take a sniff and it’s not hard to imagine you’re sitting on the banks of a stream that’s purling through a mountain meadow rimmed by evergreens. Here are the notes I’m smelling the most: balsam fir, Douglas fir, cedar, pine needles, peppermint, tea tree, sage, and rosemary. It’s green, sappy, and delicious, and I can hardly stand to lather it, it makes me so homesick for the high country.

It does sound like my jam and come home for heavens sake. I’ve got a bed for you and your bride. If you hurry you can make it for the sleep-over tonight.

Thanks, agreed. If I wasn't away from home I'd have had my spice bomb EDT to join in.

I really like lavender and I really like triple milled soaps but the real reason I picked it up was because it’s first ingredient is Sodium Tallowate and it was purported to lather like crazy! EVERY previous recipe with Sodium anything that I’d tried previously was a wreck so I struggled to believe it would work but hey, I liked the Salters products I’d tried and the report came from Teiste Brito whom I count as a trustworthy source. Well Teiste was right. The soap in fact does lather easily and well. The lavender scent is lower mid which I like. Floral but with some wood tucked in there I believe. Almost too slick and protective and I find I have to water it really well or the razor guard bars just float too high. I’m talking taking the lather right up to too-wet. I really dig this puck and wonder why I don’t see more of it. I’ll post the ingredients list but I suspect the strong lather comes from the Stearate in the #2 and #3 ingredients but I’m no chemist or soaper. It just works well. And perhaps a purple razor fits with a lavender soap? You would be correct. High stearic acid content on those first two ingredients.

I wonder how this compares with Dedaration Grooming Weinstrasse which really does have that wine feel to it with its white grape top note. It takes me right back to my days in the Napa Valley. I used to hang out some at Robert Mondavi and they used to serve tastings of Fume Blanc.
More than you probably ever wanted to know regarding Weinstrasse: https://chatillonlux.com/blogs/news/scen...ly-vaguely
It is posited that distance and time clarify perspective. Being honest, although having fought it entire life, there is wisdom in the lore of old.
Have been focusing on Grooming Dept Vanilla Almond Mallard, which is an outstanding soap, at the leading edge of the latest soap tech.
But then, for whatever reason, decided to lather up an ETHOS Safi sample from Patriot.
Good God, one immediately knows where every penny of the outrageous price goes.
I may have been mistaken regarding the gap from the world's second best soap to first....
Will likely never have the means to buy a tub but damn!!! DEAD BALLS PERFECT in every metric....
Thank you Patriot.
