And just shaved with water?  Hahaha.  I often post the wrong pic to the wrong thread.  How do you like that two band?

I’m a Brut-aholic. There, I admit it. It may be a cheap cologne, but there’s something appealing about the way it clobbers you for a minute and then slinks away. It’s equal parts clean and dirty at first; then it’s just gone. Rude treatment, maybe, but my nose never grows tired of it.

Got two 100 ml bottles of the Joe Namath stuff and I’m with you!  It’s good.  Better have cleats on when you spray it on because it has recoil like a 300 Winchester Magnum!

Joe Namath, wasn’t he a Football guy? IM JOKING! Brut is such a dirty nasty “lily of the alley” Classic Scent.  It just hits you like that Karate Chop ad of theirs.  They have so many good print ad!

Brut to me is a spicy, woodsy, vanilla hint, bergamot, earthy green maybe a hint of licorice? Brut is a tough one to describe.  I acquired my LFP kit from a Gent for $15 shipped.  He said he wanted to give me the $15 to get it out of his home, lol.  I think it’s a pretty cool scent, performance is implied, it’s WK after all.

Again, the print ads of Brut.  They were ahead of their time.  I’d love to see this one run now, in this environment we live in!

What does that one smell like Adrian? I have his FERN Soap, it’s the most unique FOUGÈRE I’ve ever schmelt.  When friends or Family smell this one eyes light up.  I was VERY LUCKY to score mine from jshaves2554 And performance….wow.  I’m a bowl latherer mostly so I can whip Mayo pretty fast.  I want a couple more of his products.  Fern is a very special product, try it if you get the chance!

Rob! I am waiting for two soaps from Spain. One of them is Fern.
You will NOT be disappointed, and if you are, I will take it off your hands immediately.  I’m definitely asking for a kit this holiday season!

Well... I'm just terrible at describing scents. I find it impossible to break down a fragrance into its individual elementary olfactory constituents. I admire people who seem to have the gift of breaking the code behind a scent and are able to reconstruct the top-mid-base pyramid.

With due regard to the disclaimer above, here comes my attempt to describe the fragrance. Svandavapori scent profile perfectly matched my taste. Based on scent "blueprints" alone, it seemed to be a totally safe no-brainer buy. Ozonic, marine heading the scent to a heart of green florals combined with citrusy bits, all layed on a foundation of amber, cedar and juniper. I enjoy marine notes, I just love citrus. What's not to like? So I dived head first into a blind date with a Svandavapori combo (soap and aftershave). Unfortunately it just wasn't love at first sight. What I got was a dull fragrance that lacked the sharpness, briskness and sparklingness of citrus and also missed the clean and serenic nature of ozonic and marine notes. Pleasant but mediocre. Hope I'm not being to harsh on this fragrance. We all know scent is an extremely subjective matter.

Performance was solid, as with many other top tier soaps available.

For me, the key take away from this is a self-descovery i.e. my shaving journey is (still) mainly driven by scent and to a lesser extent by performance. Does this mean I'm not at shaving maturity yet?

PS: thanks for the tip, I'll give Fern a try if I manage to get a sample from my fellow local wetshavers (we've recently done a group buy from Joserra)
I think you hit this description spot on.  FYI, you hit shaving maturity upon your 66th soap tub purchase.  I’m joking but imho I don’t think Citrus is a tough one to hit in a shaving soap, in fact, I’d say that would be the easiest note to hit.

He does so many other wonderful scents, but a miss is a miss. $45-$60 kits are a tough hit when you’re disappointed.  I won’t be experimenting with this one.  There are many products out here that can do a better job for a fraction of that cost.

I’m scent driven too, HOWEVER, since hanging around this crowd right here, whoa.  I went from embarrassing foamy lathers of really decent soaps to churned butter of ANY soaps. These Men here talk truths about soaps, it’s not all wine and roses for Artisans over here.  However, disappointed is always done like a PRO here, the way you reviewed.

Appreciate you taking the to review!

Here’s one I LOVE that may hit the profile of what you like.  “Mr Fine’s Aquamarine” Think Sicilian lemon, Sweet oranges, Amber, Spicy sharp rosemary, algae/oakmoss green, maybe teakwood, think woodsy sweet and musk, but a lighter almost patchouli musk, but LITE.

Mr Fine makes some really decent products.  It’s a hard puck, I use a cheese grater as I’m a bowl latherer mostly.  This is not an ultra premium soap however I churned up a brilliant lather.  Some folks say the scent is lighter, I say it’s just right for what it is.  Reviews are subjective.  Personally, I like in your face strong scents, however something lighter and fresh once in a while works too.  I used Mr Fines Splash too which is outstanding.  I’ll pair this one with Acqua Di Gio especially on date note.  No luck needed smelling like this….
