East Indies v. (Fitjar Soaps) muted spice

I ordered this soap from Pasteur’s, thinking it was a new fragrance in the Fitjar Islands line up. Turns out East Indies is an ancient soap, seven years old at least (that explains the ridiculously low price). I have a feeling this soap dates from the early days of Fitjar Soaps, the company that pre-dated Fitjar Islands. The puck was hand wrapped in cling film, and over the years its oils had seeped into the packaging. When I first opened it, I nearly pitched it. It looked a mess. But I figured it deserved at least one shot. So I potted it in a new tub, took a brush to it, and proceeded to be very pleasantly surprised. No problems with this rich lather at all, and the mild spicy scent was delicious. Long live Fitjar!
