Awhile back I was chewing the fat with my old cowboy friend Boyd Schwieder. He and my dad were on the wheat growers board and thus our families have been friends for years even though we ranched in different parts of the state. Boyd asked me “do you know why sheep are covered in wool”? Well I was pretty sure I knew the biological answer but he was headed in a different direction so I asked him why. He said, “so you do t hurt your foot when you kick them”! Hahaha. Spoken like a true cowboy. By the way, Boyd still brings his cows home from the summer range and takes them back in the spring via the cattle drive. 20 miles from Tex Creek to his place up the road from me.
So how does an Idaho Cowboy end up with sheep all over his face? Well, if it comes in the form of Stirlings sheep base soap, I’m all in. That stuff is mighty creamy and the finish is just as buttery. Scots Pine is one of my favorite scents from Rod so it’s always a good day when this one heaves into view.
