Mystic Water - Pompelmo & Fiori

Curious about this one. Strong grapefruit? And what is the fiori note?

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

It's grapefruit and flowers. The overarching note is grapefruit and the flowers (lily of valley) round things out. So if you're familiar with TOBS grapefruit, it's like that except finished and fuller and better rounded and complete. The floral accord doesn't present to me as flowery but as complementary. It is a wonderful and masterfully done citrus scent. And I just checked her site and this one is no longer listed. Whyyyyyyyy.

Acqua di Parma Colonia shaving cream (v.1). It has the same fragrance, and the lather is almost as rich as that of the soft soap.

Put a cherry on it, brother. That looks good enough to eat.

This thread started by Gareth of The Handlebar Supply in August 2015. He used Dr. Jon's Anne Bonny. Since then there have been over 16,000 soap/cream choices documented on these pages. I spent some time jumping through them and boy is it a blast from the past. One thing that struck me was the fickle nature of our like for a soap. Well, perhaps the word fickle is wrong. Perhaps we are just a painfully curious lot? Soaps that were talked about a lot in the summer of 2015 are relegated to closets and drawers and dust bins, not because they don't still perform but because a new one came along and then another and then another. I was reminded of so many things looking over the past pages. I recall when B&M Rhapsody came out. Tims soap. Gingers Garden. Mystic Waters used to get a ton of play. Caties Bubbles. Just a bunch of good brands and soaps. In another couple of years it'll be interesting to see how much action the new kids get.

Another thing I noticed is the coming-in and going-out of DFS members. Frequent fliers no longer visit. Perhaps they found what they were looking for and settled in with a rotation of a handful of soaps? That said, Freddy was there at the first and still shows up to post today and Bouki has made his posts as art forms.

I'd like to challenge you to shave with a "forgotten" soap or cream to see if they still stand up to your current measure of goodness. Post about it all you shaving weirdos! I'll be reading.

GP is a great scent! A nice floral-vibe that doesn't overpower you off the puck and stays consistent throughout a three-pass shave

That's a great idea Lipripper660 I didn't start wetshaving until about 3 years ago so I missed out on a lot of the soaps and creams that have been "pushed to the back of the closet" of other shavers. Currently, I'm sticking with MW while I try out the Carbon Cx. But once the razor gets sent to the next person on the list, I may have to break out my very first soap - Sir Hare Classic Barber (yes...the very same soap that is constantly talked about on the forums and displayed in SOTD pix Big Grin)
