Olfactory Hue t. (Cold River Soap Works) agarwood, olibanum, sandalwood

The name of this soap comes from a song by Phish. Their lyrics talk about how smells sometimes conjure up colors. It’s a kind of synesthesia where one sense bleeds into another. When I take a whiff of Olfactory Hue, what I see is a dark earthy brown, dry and a little spicy, like a stick of Japanese incense. There’s some frankincence in the mix too. That always registers as yellow with me. The lather itself, though, comes out bright snowy white, and it’s so slick you’ll want to put chains on your razor.
