I think Sudsy Soapery is very underrated. Well, not really underrated, as those that try it rate it very high so I'd have to say it's just undiscovered. It's getting a lot of really positive reviews on another shaving forum. I've tried hundreds of soaps and it's my favorite soap right after PannaCrema Nuavia. As a plus, it's not an expensive soap either.

This was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I just tried it a few days ago.  It was one of the many shaving related things that I purchased a while back and never used.  It worked great!

I read somewhere that it is being discontinued, but not sure.  It used to be available locally in drug stores and supermarkets.  I haven't seen it on shelves recently though.  That's a shame, because it was less than $5.00 a tube!

So I was on the road for a couple of weeks in August starting with a week in Whitehorse, Yukon I thought I'd bring along a couple of soaps that hadn't been getting much love lately and they were also in a smaller format. Well, apparently the lack of love was earned. Maybe the water, maybe the Simpsons Major travel brush but my shaves weren't as enjoyable so I went into the Shoppers Drug Mart on main street and picked up a tube of Nivea Sensitive for $4.99. That stuff is great, if it weren't for the Nivea Sensitive I'd have started my fall beard early this yearSmile I'm not sure why its out of stock in your locale, but I found it in Whitehorse and saw it on the shelf in Kelowna a week later so I think they're still making it for now. Either that or it takes longer to sell out the existing stock in the booniesSmile I use it occasionally in a super lather which whips up nice and slick, only problem, however, is that it totally kills any scent the soap might have that you're combining it with

Thanks to a fellow wet-shaving enthusiast, I got myself a tub of the SS Sandalwood and Myrrh. Two shaves in, and I am hooked! Now I need to find a way to thin my soaps collection to add more of the Sudsy Soapery creations...

There are a couple new fragrances I'm waiting to try including the Sage & Lime one. I'm totally hooked on the Lavender & Peppermint one as well.
Between this soap and the PannaCrema offerings I could happily live without all of the others in my shave den. I won't, but I could.

I'm glad you found the Nivea Sensitive cream and it worked for you!

It seems that this shaving cream is still being stocked in Canada, but no longer in the US. There were several pharmacies and supermarkets in my area of Southwestern NY, USA that stocked it in the past, but not anymore. It just disappeared without notice.

I have yet to see a negative (or even a lukewarm) review of this soap.

That's true now that you mention it. I gave it a great review on the other forum and people slowly starting trying it and posting more great reviews until enough were posted that more and more people wanted to see what it was all about. I don't recall seeing one review where the person trying it didn't find it to be something special. I do remember one person not liking a particular scent but that's about it as far as anything negative I've seen goes.

A really impressive soap that more people here should try.

I am intrigued by the soap.
However, am I reading the site, correctly? I see some shaving soaps for $18.95, whereas a few are $10.95.
Does anyone know why there is a price discrepancy as the size of the soaps are all 3.5oz?

OK, I'll be Mr. Rain on the Parade for Sudsy Soapery, Sad They're small, CDN$14.50 for 3.5oz citrus and bay at Menessentials but for me the show stopper is that the scents are really, really mild. They don't perform any better or, IMO even as good as the top tier soaps out there and they don't smell like much so I find it hard to reach for them in the morning when there are so many other choices that tick ALL the boxes. Again, just my own opinion YMMV.

Unless I somehow missed it, to me it looks like they do not list the soap jar sizes on the site. I was wondering about the price difference, as well, but when I zoomed in on the product photos, it seems that the old tins are 3.5 oz., whereas the new amber plastic jars are 5.5 oz.

That is, as far as I can tell. Anyone else care to chime in?

EDIT: At least one of the new soaps had the 5.5 oz. size stated in the “Specs” dropdown menu. However, one of the old tins I looked at did not have that information in the dropdowns. (But when zooming in it is easy to see that it’s 3.5 oz.)
