It felt like I could shave on autopilot with the SLIM. I was also concerned about an all titanium configuration being too light, but that was not the case. More to come after I've had a few more shaves with it.

george1906 did you exchange yours for a SB?

How does the Slim compare to the Blackbird in efficiency?
Thanks.

I'm curious about that, too. I have a Blackbird in the mail now.

shaveSymptomatic, of course. Smile

Whisk-her Away that is very interesting as I have heard from others that the Slim is more aggressive than the .95
Was yours the SB or OC model?
I guess the only way to determine this is to try one, for myself. Smile

Think you meant to tag whisk her away. I’ve not tried the BB or the timeless slim

Not even close. The BB is one of the most efficient razors out there. The Ti SLIM efficiency is very middle of the road. I found the Ti SLIM SB to be just as smooth as my Ti .95 SB, but its efficiency was closer to that of the Timeless .68 SB. In fact, the overall shave felt pretty similar to the .68, with perhaps a touch more blade feel.

In 2 different forums that I frequent and in almost 2 months since it was released this is the 1st time I've seen the Slim compared anywhere in the same zip code as the Timeless .68 SB or OC!! How is that possible? In fact it almost sounds like an advert for the BB than a shave comparison!! What did Timeless do to you?

Another example of YMMV, as for me with 5 shaves in with the Ti slim I still find it having a small amount of more blade feel over my .95 Ti OC but definitely more efficient.

Ha! I don’t own the BB or the Ti SLIM baseplate anymore. As much as I wanted to like the BB, it had too much blade feel for my taste. As for the Ti SLIM SB plate, I just didn’t find it to be that aggressive. It felt about like I’d expect a .50mm gap razor to feel. It was very smooth, but for me it lacked the efficiency of my Ti .95 SB, which is one of my top two razors (WR2 1.15 being the other). With the SLIM plate, I only got close to BBS after lots of touch ups following three full passes. That’s what led me to make the .68 comparison. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time to dial in the proper angle, although my philosophy is that if a razor doesn’t just naturally fall into its optimum angle as I drag it across my face - what I call intuitive razors - it’s probably not the right razor for me.

Had my second shave with the Ti SB SLIM. My experience definitely differs from most here. I find the SB SLIM less efficient than the 0.95 SB, but nearly as smooth. I don't agree with the guys at Timeless that this is their most aggressive razor. The bronze OC, 0.95 scalloped and the aluminum all felt more aggressive (ie, harsher) to me than this SLIM. The blade feel with the SLIM felt minimal to me. I stand by my previous statement about being able to shave with it on autopilot.

The blackbird has A LOT more blade feel in comparison if you use a steep angle, but similar if you use a shallow angle. Efficacy on the BB is better.

I was hoping this SLIM would be more efficient than the original 0.95 SB. That's the reason I bought it. Expect to see it on the BST soon enough.

As with most things in shaving, you're going to have to try it out to see if it works for you.

Dude, you should have asked me before you bought it from me! Heck, I would’ve told you straight away that it’s nowhere near as efficient as the .95 SB. That’s the reason I sold it!

Haha, that's OK, I HAD to try it because you never know. Look at Mark, he finds it more efficient than the original 0.95 OC. Plus, the curiosity would have killed me lol.

I actually didn't find it much milder than the original version, just a little.
