Is it that you just find the Slim more aggressive than the standard .95, the reason for why you are not getting comfortable shaves?

It is more aggressive but I love aggressive razors.  I am not used to a Timeless not being smooth.  I own a ton of extremely high gap razors and I still find them to be smooth.  Even my Rocnel 2019 Sailor is still smooth at higher gaps but extremely aggressive compared to my 2020 Sailor.  I am shocked that I have yet to get a smooth shave from this new Timeless slim OC.  It may just be the OC plate but I have some pretty aggressive OC razors as well that are still smooth.

This is a bit odd seeing as you have experience with a few aggressive razors. Hopefully, you can get it to work, for you. Good luck.
If I ever decide to get one, I think I would go with the SB plate.

Thanks man! It has been really odd for me because of the fact that I love aggressive razors. I am going to take a break from it over the next couple shaves. I also need to contact Matt and decide if I want to swap it out for the SB plate.

Good luck and keep me updated as I would be very curious to know what happens if you try the SB.

I'm also curious - I like the .95 SB and don't find it harsh at all but I'm a little worried the slim will not fare as well. I have wanted a slimmer version of the Timeless so I'm hoping a SB will be smooth enough for me to replace the .95. Sounds like it might not be though.

The secret to getting a good shave is the razors ability to cut. Regarding the SLIM try using a sharp blade such as a Feather or Kai. You might be pleasantly surprised at the results. To me its better then the .95

Yes I've found Feathers to work great in my .95. I'll probably give the slim a try - I'm just a little hesitant based on some of the feedback I've read.

With the exception of george1906 all other feedback had been very positive so far for the "Slim" Timeless...

I read (I think on another forum) someone else having a similar experience to george1906. Also, GlazedBoker said "If you thought the .95 was a bit to much, don’t even bother looking at this razor. This is not for you, hands down.". I do like the .95 but I don't think I would want anything more aggressive - never tried a Blackbird for this reason. And the description on the Timeless site makes it seem like the slim can bite if you aren't careful. That said, I have been wanting a slimmer version of the Timeless and this is it. As you said, most feedback has been very positive. So maybe it's time for me to give a more aggressive razor a try and see if it works for me. I added one to my cart last night but I haven't submitted the order yet... I'm so close.

george1906 I think you need to keep using the slim for a few weeks. Initial impressions are one thing but it's way too soon to throw in the towel unless the experience is unbearable.

+1 ... I felt that way about the WR1 .94 at first. After a couple of weeks of shaving with it every other day or so, different blades and what not, I began to like it just fine.
