And speaking of handles, those three I posted in my Journal should be landing in the mailbox sometime today! I am looking forward to seeing them in person!

Thought I'd try my hand at a video today since I needed to set a knot.

Hope someone out there finds it helpful. My phone stopped recording right before I pushed the knot in... so be sure to watch both:

Hey, maybe next time I'll rotate my phone the right way before recording too Wink

AWESOME job Paul ! (The Hand Model Big Grin) Eric, that's how the NON Rednecks do it. I recommend Paul's method and I like smearing it in the socket and up just a tad on the walls rather than as I did around the base of the knot  Happy2

I look forward to viewing these, Paul. Can you eat popcorn while setting a knot?! Probably knot, but I will snack while I watch them!

Very good videos. I've always loved the almost holographic effect of figured maple once it's been properly finished. There is nothing else like it.

Just watched the videos, Paul, and they were great! I think that really helped me feel more confident. When my knots finally arrive (they have to cross the border from Canada, which means they could be here tomorrow or next week), I will put them in the handles and compare loft and splay to the brushes that have what I am looking for. I sent an email to Andrew at AP Shave Co, asking what depth he set at. I also told him that my 28mm seemed to have a shorter loft than either the 26mm and 30mm, which I think affected the splay, and to my face, the overall softness feeling. He responded very kindly and quickly, but as those brushes were from several years ago, he doesn't know exactly what depth he used. He believes that both are set at 12mm, and that yes, the 28mm had a shorter loft.

I did get some of those red beer washers, and I will see if I can get the 28mm set the "wall of softness" that I want!

Thank you very much for taking the time to make those videos. I am sure many of us are benefiting from them!
