The grain on that handle is very nice. I’ve wanted to make myself a monster handle for some time as well, but haven’t come across a material that feels right yet.

Razor: Wolfman WR2 (1.25 gap)
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Black Locust Wood - 28mm Elite Razor Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Moon Soaps - Union
Aftershave: Floid Black
Blade: Personna

It's taken me forever, but I'm starting to really enjoy using the Wolfman. It has a pretty narrow cutting angle and not much blade feel, so I always seem to be trying to find the "zone" with it. Part of me really wants to get a WR1 now, but man... hard to justify such expensive razors when something like the Rockwell 6S and Yates work perfectly for me!

Couldn't resist the Moon soap again. It's just such a nice Barbershop scent and performance continues to impress me. I used my Black Locus "Barrel" handle yesterday, but I wanted to take it for another spin today. Does anyone else like barrel-shaped handles out there? Curious if there is much demand for them... they sure are easier to turn on the lathe!

Have a great day DFS Friends!

I'm with you on hard to justify the expensive razors but glad you're getting along with the one you have.

The barrel-shape looks interesting.  For me, it would work very well if it were taller and thicker.  But, more importantly (at least to me), that wood grain looks stunning!  It is such a gorgeous handle.  Is that grain typical of the Black Locus?

Well, it’s usually a pretty boring wood. On this one, I carefully turned it across the grain which somehow made those grain lines pop.
