I’ve been using Star Bond CA recently

Also have used Bob Smith Industries CA a lot in the past

Both are quality products.

I’m planning to dabble back into acrylic handles again in the near future. Wood is just so much more interesting to me, but I need to push myself a bit more into different things with this hobby.

Very nice. I haven't tried Bob Smith, but have used Star Bond for a few years and it is good stuff. I love the natural variety in wood and that no two are the same, but also got into casting resin last year before I had to put the shop into storage, and it really is a blast.

I think Star Bond might be just a bit easier to work with for me. I also like the bottle/nozzle on the Star Bond bottle more. Both are good though.

Razor: Blackland Blackbird w/ TiBam Titanium Handle
Brush: Semogue 610 Boar
Soap: Hub City - Morning Hike
Aftershave: Cella - Aloe Vera

Tried out the “Morning Hike” soap sample Mike gave me. What a nice scent... hard to pick out individual notes on this one, but I do pickup on a bit of sage and lavender. Lather was great. I’d put Hub City right up there with B&M and Spearhead.

I love the little Semogue, but do wish the knot was larger! It takes a bit of effort to whip up enough lather.

It’s been a crazy stormy morning here in the PNW, so I’ve been out in the shop turning/finishing handles. Trying my best to wrap up these 2 maple handles today:

It’s interesting for sure. I had to carefully fill one of the gaps with superglue and sawdust.

I always thought it was funny how some mediums that people work with  are prized for their flawlessness, but woodworking is often the opposite. Look at burl. It is the result of a tree basically getting an infection, and it is highly sought after.

Razor: Bowdins Straight
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Black Locust wood - 28mm Elite Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Tabac
Aftershave: Lucky Tiger

Was unexpectedly summoned to the office this morning so it was an evening shave for me!

Decided to mix things up further by reaching for one of my straights. I will fully admit, I’m not very good with a straight. Luckily my DFS friend yohannrjm is local and knows how to properly hone these crazy things. He was kind enough to get my straights shave ready!

I’ve always wanted a big, barrel shaped handle, so I made myself this one and am happy with how the grain lines came out.

Very nice brush Paul. FWIW I think the photo composition shows it very nicely too. Enjoy it!
