If you want to go even further , a sensible dry on the cool setting using a hairdryer. I just gently strop dry the knot on the towel after a good rinse and leave to dry in a well ventilated room , preferably with an open window for 24 hours or so before putting away. There will be some guys spitting their coffee out at what they feel is being excessive but that's just how I do it. I'm glad you are enjoying her so far , there is little better than taking delivery of your first Simpson Chubby brush. Any pics to show her off?

Oh yes! The picture of all the brushes together includes my wife's two synthetics. The rest are mine. I didn't include my Commodore X3 because I'm in the process of transplanting the knot to another handle.

Nice , there is just something about the Chubby series as brushes. You feel like you've been given the key to the executive lounge when you get your first Chubby. It's an expensive purchase but you feel like you've made it when you get your first top drawer brush . Enjoy her in good health!

Agree completely. But there is a problem....now I'm thinking about how nice the other Chubbys would be in my den, and even some of the limited edition brushes....it's a gateway drug!

Haha , that my friend is choppy waters you'll have to negotiate by yourself. Fortunately I know when to say when as far as the ridiculous prices of their Manchurian range gets to. I just can't see how the Chubby Manchurians can be worth that price, I just can't.

Ultimately I can't see myself buying one either. It's just the lusting. I would be interested to possibly check out a super hair for comparison. But this best quality is top notch. It's hard to see how the price difference could be worth it. But what do I know?!

I had a CH1 in Super and my Best knot in my previous CH2 was not that far off the same quality of the Super.

Ok that helps tremendously. I have no doubt they are better, but the question becomes one of Ho many times better for the price. I'm a fan of best bang for the buck (even if it is expensive, I want the best value). Best might be best!!!

Also depending on when you buy either grade of Best or Super the quality and characteristics can be slightly different. For example the CH2 Best I had initially was not as soft and luxurious as the CH1 Super I bought soon afterwards , both still great but there was a noticeable difference. However the Best in the CH2 I had re knotted of late was , I suspect an older knot and it was of a superior standard than the CH1 Super knot I had ; both in softness and face feel so go figure Huh

Yeah I had heard about variations between brushes. The result of a handmade product. I'm not extremely picky, or I guess I should say I'm somewhat blissfully unaware of the actual differences beyond discussion around the topic. Both Simpsons I had are best grade and are extremely nice. I'd give the nod to the chubby just simply because it feels wonderful! Maybe the density has more to do with my perceived level of softness.

That being said, I'm sure this is not the last Simpsons brush I'll own. After I get over my soap acquisition disorder, it might be time for SBAD. Ha.

My SAD has been quelled of late but I'm on a bit of a brush buying tilt right now. I've a Gustavo Romera in the mail and a Brad Sears in production at the minute.
