For example the CH2 Best I had initially was not as soft and luxurious as the CH1 Super I bought soon afterwards , both still great but there was a noticeable difference. However the Best in the CH2 I had re knotted of late was , I suspect an older knot and it was of a superior standard than the CH1 Super knot I had ; both in softness and face feel so go figure Huh

It's natural hair, so it's very possible.

My CH2 Best, a limited edition soft swirled faux ivory handle from Simpson Mark W made possible, just before he started with his more colourful handles, is still honestly my favourite CH2 in front of my Silvertip 2-bands and Manchurians. It's softer than my CH2 Super 3-band, has better face feel and backbone, so batches most certainly vary, it's badger hair after all.

I paid $250 for that limited edition CH2 Best in 2012, and I'm not selling it, not for less than double what I paid for it.

My 4 Manchurian CH2 also vary quite a bit. I own batches from 2013, 2014, 2015 and also 2016.

That is the fun thing about badger hair and brushes. No hair is identical

That's the tricky thing when buying them on a bst for the buyer and seller because of the variation different people have different views on how soft, dense, scrubby etc a particular type of hair is because of their own experiences with them. I had a colonel in best and it was a scratchy brush on my cheeks but me Chubby Best knots have been plush , silky and very soft on the face.

I obviously need to do some reading. Those don't sound immediately recognizable to me. More brushes is always a good thing though!
