I have found it very difficult to “surprise “ Dave with packages. He surprisingly connected.

In replying to Dave on his thread, I decided I needed my comment here as well, to help me keep track of my thoughts!

"Hey Dave, glad you got to try it out and see what you think. I wonder if the Ti version would be smoother, but I don't wonder enough to order it. I found that my polished Karve seems smoother than I recall, and tempts me to even more carefree abandon while shaving. I am in agreement with, how did you put it, "but prefer relaxing near mindless shaves." The last two days, I have used a Schick adjustable, and I dialed it down to 4 today, and had a relaxing, close, and comfortable shave. Years ago, someone on some shave forum used the acronym RCS as his standard, a Really Comfortable Shave. He stopped trying to determine DFS, BBS, +/-, etc and made up his own acronym. I adopted it and for me, it includes the closeness that I want. If I can get that closeness AND have comfy, near mindless shaves, than it gets tagged RCS. [I should repost this in my Journal so I can find it easier!]

Why not make it as complicated as any other with more variables, lol...

RCCS- Close Comfortable

RACS- Acceptable Comfortable

The Single Edge week ended yesterday. I had some great shaves and learned some things. I found there is another component in my shaving that can be very important, and that is how pleasurable the shave is.  I think many of us no longer see shaving as a chore, and as a grudging expense (the store I work at sells my preferred cart, the Hydro 5, for $15 for 4 carts). And somewhere along the journey, pleasure became an integral part of the routine.

What I found this week is that the injectors were more pleasurable than the Vector.  The Vector delivered smoothness and a long lasting shave for the work day wearing a mask, but the extra attention to the process didn't strike me as pleasurable. Oh, it wasn't a chore, I was enjoying the ritual, but not as much as when using the injector.

To be fair, I was using a new soap, and my notes from December and January show that I had used Mike's Natural and Mystic Water when using the Vector before. Maybe they had more slickness? Maybe I need more water added to the lather?  Whatever the case, the Vector seemed to take all the lather away on the first swipe, and I tend to do little swipes, almost buffing, at times. The Vector seemed to drag and this felt uncomfortable. No weepers or irritation, but not comfy.

So this week will be a Double Edge week, using my Karve and the Yates with a new Rapira Platinum Lux. And a new to me soap, Zingari Man unscented.

Hope you all stay warm, safe, healthy and happy!
