Although I am not married or have a significant other, Brian, I don't think they will ever believe their one and onlys are balanced.  I also believe that is why you are loved.

A few shaves down with my OB #875 (which presumably means that there are at least 875 OBs sold by the time of my ordering). Still haven't tried a de-spined GEM, on my third FHS-10 now. So far my verdict is that price and performance do not correspond. My Mongeese, both alumi and SS, give me mostly as smooth shaves and are a lot more efficient at mowing my whiskers. Beyond build quality, which is most appreciable in the OneBlade, it is in the post shave department that OneBlade shines. It seems that regardless of the feel of the shave itself (today was my fourth on the same blade, and first pass was significantly tugging), the post shave feel is flawless, no irritation, no red or burn. Given today's results I will proceed with a fifth shave on the same blade, but in terms of feel, like I said, I would prefer not to go beyond two I believe.

I am not sure if there's more technique to be learned, though? Have any of you experienced significant improvement with the OB over time? Not sure I have the pivot thing down, whether to pretend it's not there or to try and make conscious use of it.

The OB razor I bought (and returned) in late March/early April was #4995. Right after I had ordered the razor, I got an email from OB stating that they had reached 4000 in numbers of razors sold since their introduction.

I've been using the OneBlade exclusively since I got it, and for me it was pretty much perfection after the first couple of uses. I don't pay any attention to the pivot, just trust that it will work when it needs to. I'm getting the closest, most comfortable shaves of my life with no irritation. While I do notice the first pass isn't quite as close as what I can get with my ATT S1 or Blackbird, at the end of 3 passes I have a closer, more consistent result than with any other razor I own and the lack of redness and irritation continue to astound me. For me, it was worth every cent.

Yes, there is some technique to the OneBlade for a couple different reasons. The most obvious reason is the pivot. I personally "ride the pivot" and know that it is engaged, especially around my jawline and chin. The second technique modification that I made was due to the mildness of the razor. I was doing a 2-pass routine with more aggressive/efficient razors like the Mongoose for a BBS shave. However, if I were to do a full 3rd pass I would have some weepers and irritation. When I first got the OneBlade I stuck with my 2-pass routine and got pretty decent results, though the closeness was not quite as good as the Mongoose. I then realized that the mildness of the razor could need a different approach. I switched to a 3-pass shave and now I can get closer, longer lasting shaves from the OneBlade than I can from anything else I've used. Also, the risk for skin irritation and weepers is approaching zero.

No doubt this razor represents a breakthrough for a great many people. I think everyone should at least try this one, if they're still searching for a dependable razor that delivers a great shave on a regular basis.

The OneBlade has turned out to be a great razor for me. It gives me BBS shaves with no cuts or irritation.
