A question for Douglas. Your PAA and Crown King soaps are both tremendous performers but which do you prefer using yourself?

While Douglas is the face of the company, and a master of many trades within the business, I really appreciate how quick Fran has been to respond whenever I’ve had a Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements-related question of any kind.

Looking forward to some good conversation in this thread.

ah, I fixed my original post.

A quick question to start off:  will King Emporium be coming back?  If not, what would be a good substitute?

Hmmmmmm, King R never left! It's sold exclusively through Razor Emporium! Here's a link to the soap (if this is ok to link here? let me know if this goes against any rules guys!) http://www.razoremporium.com/king-r-empo...ving-soap/

no issues!

LOL...spare time? We have not even taken a vacation in 5 years! All we do is this.

I love them both bud! That's why we make 'em both...even though it's a pain in the butt!

Keep up the great work! Agharta is my favorite scent of all time! Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey JRR!
No chance at all! Smile
I am a firm believer that the addition of tallow doesn't make for a better soap, like a magical ingredient. It's just a traditional ingredient. Back in the day tallow was used as a cheap source of stearic acid. it was a by product of the bumping meat industry and big companies scooped it up for pennies. Now a days we have access to many, MANY
different exotic oils and butters that contain stearic acid, equal to and sometimes more than tallow. With all the crap they pump into animals these days; hormones, steroids, etc...I rather not go down that road, especially when there is no need. Stearic acid is stearic acid, I don't care where it comes from. I honestly think it's just superstition and placebo that keeps the myth or Tallow being magical alive. People really enjoy our Crown King formula, especially those that have sworn by tallow for years...if that tells you anything! Great question and I hope that helps!

Well said!

Hey Doug and Fran.

Any new hardware on the horizon? Razors or brushes?

What's a good scent to turn off bees? Seriously.
I got stung by a wasp or yellow jacket on Labor Day. Immediately knew something was terribly wrong.
Got to the ER just in time.
Anaphylactic shock. Total nightmare.

I had just shaved and doused myself in a generous mix of different aftershaves beforehand. I wasn't outside for five minutes when I was suddenly Kamikazed by that mean little venomous devil.

I'd obviously like to avoid ever going through that again if I can.

I'm a little hesitant to use anything scented lately since the internet suggests not to when trying to avoid bees and wasps.

Are my days of wearing any aftershave at all over?

Is anything you know of a repellent more than wearing a bee suit or staying inside?
