Mike's is definitely very good stuff. Stirling and Mikes were the first artisan soaps I tried over three years back. Stirling certainly came a long way since the times he used to sell soaps for $3.25! His formula has improved drastically! On the other hand, Mike has always kept the same formula and delivered fantastic soaps since the beginning, without raising the prices too much. I can't say that for many other artisans. Haven't used his soaps in ages, but might just pick some up for old times sake!

With all due respect, how do you know that? I am sure most makers don't mention the "tweaks" they do as time goes by.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.” “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Point taken. However, I personally wouldn't consider a tiny "tweak" to be a formula change, therefore I must stand my ground on this one .
There's only one way to truly find out though.. And that's to contact the man himself!

Was probably a introductory price. Bunch of "artisans" initially sold for lower prices to get people to try the products then higher the price gradually until it's where they make money off of it.
Stirling gives you 5.8 oz for $12 which is about $2/oz for a great soap that's killer deal.
Such a practice happens in every market.
I can't speak on mikes as I wasn't around when it first came out to see it's intro price. Wsp was another that did so though they keep raising their prices every 6 months it seems. Too expensive for me now.
I like mikes barbershop scent .

Good luck getting a response. I emailed him months ago asking about a certain scent and still nothing...

Your just doing this because of me posting the Mystic Water sale aren't you.
Seriously, thank you for the heads up.
Anyone have something to compare this to.
Per Mikes Website:
"Though it's been nasty and cold here lately, I was inspired to make this batch by some beautiful spring weather that preceded this dreary spell. Avoid this one if you have an especially sensitive schnoz; it's pretty potent."
Go Blue!

2 tins ordered!
I think it's a brand new one!
I'm a little torn because I do think it's cool he's offering something new. But then again, I've always loved the fact he kept it simple and didn't offer new scents.

Even though MW was a half off sale, I still spent a lot more there than I did today
