Just ordered Mikes Hungarian Lavender, Lime, Barbershop, and Orange Cedarwood & Black Pepper. Went with bars instead of the tins.

Sounds like a great order - if you've got any empty B&M tubs or similar its pretty easy to squash Mike's into those and lather away.

Still waiting to see one of those mythological empty soap tubs with my own eyes. Big Grin I do have some 8oz Pyrex/Anchor bowls with the airtight lids. Next time I order from Maggards I may pickup a couple of those 6oz  PETG soap jars.

Nice! If one's going to order a few soaps Mike's is a great choice. Shaved with the HL this morning. I find his scents just right. It's a relief sometimes to know what scent I'm using rather than guessing complex artisan scents.

Mike's is like that high school friend from way back when you know will always be there and  never changes. We need more of that these days.

Well said.

To add, I find I get the most consistent shaves with this soap. Doesn't matter which equipment I use. I like that. Mostly essential oils is a major plus as well.

Here you go, I won't use the Salter tub as its not ideal for soap loading and I've got a first release tub of Leviathan that is down to the ring around the edge that I'll finish in the next week or so.  I also cleaned out a tub of B&M Bay Rum a few months ago.  I know its rare but it does happen Smile

I have a tin of that, but I have only used it once. I think it smells like cough drops for whatever reason ha.

I am a big fan of Mike's and luckily found it early on in my shave journey. It would not be a stretch to say that it has worked every time and has yielded wonderful results. It will work whether you bloom it or not, use soft water or hard water, use boar or badger or synthetic, yadayada.

There has been a small handful of negative reviews I have read over the years of Mike's but for the most part, people love and sing it's praises.

I still happily continue to rotate between Orange/Black Pepper/Cedarwood, Hungarian Lavender and Lemongrass/Eucalyptus.

The small handful of negative reviews that I have read in the past were because of availability. I think he solved that problem though as I see it is available in a few different places now.

Is it normal that it has a dark spot in the middle of the tin?

I have a tin of Coconut I picked up the other day and there is a small brown spot on the soap. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just the essential oil or scent ingredient would be my guess, but its defently not mold or anything to worry about at all.

I don't understand why so many people are bitching about the availability of Mike's soap. If you are looking for a particular scent, post it in the BST and I can pretty much guarantee someone out there would be willing to part with a tub. I know I would trade some Mike's for some other soap on the wish list, he does make some damn good soap, but I have like 5-6 tins and prefer some of the scents over others.
